So Check mark thread => Action => Ignore thread The thread would no longer be visible to you within that board and get sent to a ignore link to where you could un-ignore it if you choose to later on.

I believe you can already do this Click on a username then when on the profile click on the gear icon and select Block member And it will give you a list of options to ignore/block the user and posts ect You can always unblock if needed too Steve

Hello Kenneth!
This feature was brought up in the Alpha and during the Closed Beta. It didn't gain a lot of traction. The biggest reason being that it's a forum and you don't have to read anything. I can't remember who suggested it last time but I remember that we discussed the fact that your brain can keep track of threads fairly easily. If you know you don't want to read the thread 'Happy Birthday Wildmaven!' then you don't need to click on it. Or if you did click on it previously and then decided you dint want to again your brain could deal with that itself.
Tracking every users individual hidden posts would be just one more thing on pageload to check as well and could potentially slow down the forum.
While this most likely will not be a feature in the future, I will add it to the idea list for v5.x updates.
That being said it would be a lot easier for someone to create a plugin with some sort of hide thread button that appears in the boards. If you clicked it it could just hide the row. The downside to this is the pagination isn't going to change so if you are using it to ignore everything you'll just have empty pages. Realize that just like if we added it this would probably add a little load time to each page to detect if a thread should be hidden or not. Your brain is much more powerful and is certainly capable of ignoring things on its own. I suggest that.

I don't really see 'You don't have to read it' as a very valid excuse. It's sort of a mental thinking type of thing I suppose. What about a Unfollow type of feature for Participated threads. Sometimes I don't want to read anymore of a thread that I did participate in and you are kind of forced to click on it if you want it marked as read. So it's just not about not liking what a user says it's just simply the fact that you're done reading the thread and you still get notified that there are new posts.

Hi Kenneth!
As I said, If you really want it you could have a plugin do it. Probably even more exactly like you want it then we would make it.
