Moving a thread maintains bookmarks. However be aware that if a thread is moved somewhere you don't have permission to view it the permissions will take effect.

I tested it here on support with my own threads. Let's do an experiment. Go ahead and bookmark this thread. Then post and tell me that you've bookmarked it.

I will then move it to Beta General Talk to test it.

Then you can reply there and tell me if you have it or not. I will also bookmark it to test as well.

If you're using Headers & Footers, you're doing it wrong.

Yes it's still bookmarked for me too...... but another thread I had bookmarked has become unbookmarked...

I clicked on the nav tree to get to it, I replied then noticed that the thread was no longer bookmarked....
