Hi there,
Sorry to add a post after you probably cleared them all off, but I've been using this plugin since I got my forum converted late January and had no problem with it. Today I came on and suddenly the banners/logos are no longer staying displayed. What I mean by this is, they load in fine, but if I go off the page to say the Support Forum here or Facebook for a few moments, the banner/logo is no longer displaying.

It will only display again if I click on a tab and then return to the site. Or if I refresh and in that case, a different banner/logo loads in instead, but then the same thing happens.

I spoke to Ricky Zyvoloski {not sure of the surname spelling sorry} and he said I should create a post in the plugin topic to bring the developer aware and that they would likely be able to do something to fix this issue. Thanks.

However I have since disabled the plugin and added a solo header with the instructions that Ricky gave me as at first it was unaligned and the banner is still disappearing when I go off the site for any length of time. So now not sure that it's a plugin issue at all. But here's the site. No Ordinary World

I can't see any reason why it would stop working after the page has been loaded a while. Do you think you could add the plugin back to your site so I could see what is happening?

Sure. I only have the one image loaded into it now though. Only because I have been messing about to see what could be causing this. It's really weird. It's very hard to explain to be honest. The images are loading in fine, but to me at least, when I go off onto another page for any length of time all I get is the blank box where the banner should be. That said, the soon as I go to scroll on the site even without clicking on another tab first, it suddenly appears again.

That's it enabled again - let me know if you want me to add another couple of images

Very interesting, I'll try and see if I can get it to disappear for me as well. By the way, what browser are you using? Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, Opera?

Firefox completely up to date, just did an update to it tonight in fact. It is very interesting and very weird. LOL Ricky is still trying to help and wants to try and re-create my issue as he seems to have none with it. I have explained that I typically have my writing site as my main window and then I will have a second tab opened constantly for Facebook. I may then have a 3rd tab opened for my image hosting site.

Tonight I have 5 opened in total. The site, the admin panel, Facebook, this support site and my image hosting site {currently switching all graphics from tinypic to photobucket} after a test most of my images are loading in much faster and better and cleaner with photobucket instead of tinypic.

But the banner/logo area is still having this issue despite it being a photobucket link now.

Just wanted to update you that I'm not so sure that it's the plugin that is the issue. I think it's just my computer speed. Brian Ordonez said to me that going by todays standards of computers mine is pretty slow. I am hoping once I get additonal graphics card and more memory that it may solve the issue. If neither you or Ricky are re-creating the issue then it has to be my computer. Sorry for troubling you. But thank you for taking the time to talk to me about it and trying to help, much appreciated.

I haven't been able to reproduce the issue at all, so that's definitely a possibility. You may want to try asking some of your members if they are having the issue as well to further confirm Brian's hypothesis.

I am ALL the members on my site Jordan lol. I am a role play writer but I do it alone. So I have nobody to compare the issues with. I have noticed when I don't have other programs opened such as media player and Corel paint shop and Microsoft word if does it a lot less. That makes me think its a memory issue. Not coping with many things open and running at once. Trial and error I guess.

Yeah, that would make it sound like a memory issue. It's very strange since there aren't any other codes modifying that area of the forum so that sounds like the reason.

Well, it would have been great to put it down to that. But here's the thing. I came on tonight and to test it, I decided NOT to open my other programs and just have Firefox running with my writing site momentarily.  Guess what? The banner went *poof* again after being on FB for about 20 minutes or so. As I said to Ricky in the other topic in support board about it - it's almost as if the banners are on a timer and are set to turn off if nobody moves on the site for any length of time. Then they come back when it notices movement again. A bit like when someone who is logged in forever doesn't move on the site for a certain length of time it makes them appear logged out? That kind of thing. It's very strange and I wish there were more answers for it.

I disabled the random banner plugin again and just went with the one banner attached to the theme and it's still doing the same thing and it never did it to me before until I came on yesterday. That's why my initial thought was that the devs had done something in an update push that affected it. But since you and now Ricky have said you can't re-create what I am saying it is doing to me, I guess I am stuck. Lol

I understand. Not to worry. I have managed to get the Google Chrome browser to look and feel as FireFox did. The banner issue is not happening on there. So, I am going to switch default from FF to GC - only reason why I hated GC was because I didn't think I could do all the fancy things to it that I could with FF but seems I am wrong. But thanks for all your help and guidance. I am sure that the random banner plugin will work as it should now on GC.
