On my RP forum we have a code that allows Style UBBC (I think?) to be used. I was wondering if a plugin to allow Style Tags could be made? Or even if the same code could be made to work on V5?
Sorry if that is confusing.

You mean in posts ? Already an option, in the example of the table, check the bbcode Row 1 column 1 | Row 1 column 2 | Row 2 column 1 | Row 2 column 2 |

Hi Patrick! I think she means the [style=][/style] tags! Unless there's a way to already have those?

I am pretty sure that everything you could have done with the Style tags can be done with the combo of Div and Table tags...

I asked mainly because we have a lot of things on the site that have the [style=] [/style] tags and it's going to be a bit of a pain to have to go through each thread to find out which posts need changing... If there is a way to allow these tags, it would be appreciated

Is there a way to get this? I fill a lot of style requests over various sites for posting templates, all of which require a [style][/style] tag to work.
There is no way for me to write all of the posting templates over again using /divs and stuff...
Can this just be filled as a UBBC plugin request?
....it just saves a lot of trouble in the future.

If you look a few pages back, IPokemon did make a Style tag code. However it was deemed unsafe for all boards. If you install it, you are at risk for all things that can get through it. I would suggest to just work and take your time with div tags. it's much easier, and hopefully it'll become easier to use. Yes it's a pain in the rear end, but I rather take the time for everything, then have a potential security risk. I'm sure that if Ipokemon does team up with someone who can point out the issues or whatever, then they'll be a plugin in the future, but it didn't sound like he was going to try again - here- so it's up to you if you want to ask for it. It might be a pain, but there might be no other way. I don't know if there will be a UBBC advanced table rewrite either. Since most tables use both. That one I haven't seen a trial on yet, but I could be wrong.

What I am looking for is a converter. I cannot go and manually edit/fix over 3k+ thread posts (on my site alone) as well as at least 20 other forum sites that have commissioned (and paid for) templates over the past two years that also need a conversion.
You are talking about well over thousands of posts that would have to be manually changed.
A converter should not be to hard to make.
Not to mention that I don't even know how to really use any div tags to even think about changing all those thousands of posts across how many multiple websites that are currently using them. This isn't merely just me, this is hundreds and hundreds of other users that are facing the same issue - of which may or may not have just as many posts we would manually have to correct when V5 comes along.
One conversion would solve that.
There is no way in heck that I can go through and change every one of those posts...that's like saying that I have to give all their money back because they are unhappy customers and two years have been wasted time.
I already have several of them flipping out, and being very passive-aggressive, due to them paying me for these templates (some of which were $30 and $40 dollars for newsletters containing lots of tables) and trying to argue that I am responsible for style tags not working any more and ruining everything.
What am I suppose to do? Give their money back when I don't have any of it?
See the problem here?

I might be able to help a little bit. . . . There is actually a converter in iPokemon's latest code. This one:
<style> .nospaces br { display: none; } </style> <script type="text/javascript"> /******** Style UBBC Tags v2.1.2 Coded by iPokemon Special thanks to Eton Bones and Wormopolis Eton: For helping with optimization Wormopolis: For being an awesome guy and letting me bounce ideas off of him Do not repost or claim as your own *********/
/***** Edit Below Here *****/
var protectedClasses = []; //user-defined protected classes var showQuickReply = false; //show quick reply buttons; true = yes, false = no var customClass = "windowbg2"; //post form or modify form var customClass2 = "windowbg"; //quick reply area var predictive = true; //true = convert old style tags when posting or modifying, false = leave old tags alone but make them work
/***** Edit Above Here *****/ var styleSrc= "http://codes.pimg.in/iPokemon/style-tags-v2/latest/"; document.write('<scr'+'ipt src="'+styleSrc+'" type="text/javascript"></scr'+'ipt>'); </script>
It automatically converts to [*div style="blahblah"][/div*] when it's being posted if you have the option turned on. Ideally, they'd only have to go and modify the post. Edit > Modify Post without actually editing anything. If they wanted to fix all of their posts they could, or they could just edit it once and keep posting with the converted code.
And if it can already do it, maybe there could be a way to implement it later in V5. I'm sure someone (not me I'm a derp) could do it? ^^; Hope I helped even a little bit.

I'm going to play it safe and tag Brian, so he can see if the code is safe to use or not.

Codes from V4 won't work in V5/BetaZone.
It's very much possible to recreate your same templates using the style tags we already have. Link me to an existing one on a V4 forum and I can probably recreate it, minus any special hover codes or anything.

Um, Brian, are you meaning "I can probably recreate /it." where /it/ in question is a template using the ipokemon style tags or a conversion plugin for v5 to those using the style tags?
I would really hate to point out that I have like 3k+ posts in threads using templates just on my site alone; that isn't something I would want anyone to go through and manually fix every single one of them. It would just take so long, this is like two years of threads in one site alone; and I am not even going to point out how many other sites are using different templates on their own. This is everything from just roleplay templates for specific characters, to newsletters, to all sorts of tables and sheets.
Hopefully this will clear up some confusion on what you are meaning when you posted "recreating /it/."
Thank you.
