From day one of copying my forum v4.5 to the BZ testing forum, I've encountered this at least once out of two times when clicking "Save Changes": No matter what area I'm in, whether it be Plugins > Headers / Footers > Shoutbox > Themes, the same occurs. BZ Site: army83.freemessageboards.com/Browser: IE9 Since downloading Firefox 17.0 and installing, this problem is not happening. There has to be a issue with IE9 causing this.

I get this regularly on my laptop and rarely on my desktop. For my laptop, it's usually the wifi on my side becomes intermittent. I usually try it two or three more times and still get the same error above or a similar, empty popup box. If I leave it be a moment after exiting the popup it'll save whatever I was doing.

Hi, aRMY83. I seem to be able to save in those areas in IE9 with no issues. Is this still a recurring problem on your forum?

There has to be something going on with the BZ trying to save (95%) and getting errors. Just a few in Firefox 17, however in IE9 it's a constant thing trying to save without those darn errors poping up.
The only reason I'm bringing this subject back up, that I'm really getting tired of the "Save" and getting nothing but Error this and Error that. It's getting to the point that I'm just going to stop with my BZ and wait for the conversion.

Hi aRMY83, Just to clarify, the issue happens more when trying to save using Internet Explorer? If so, can you provide a number to how frequent the errors display for you? Example, 1 out of 10 times you attempt to save, something of that sort that we can use for testing. Also, can you let us know what changes you're making on the page?

Hello Ricky...
No doubt it would be (IE) 8 out of 10 times when making a change or changes to the below:
Changes to Global Headers / Footers and Main Headers / Footers
Visual Editor changes / Style Sheet changes
Changes to any Plugins that require input
Profile Changes to anything
Theme Manger > Images Changes
Layout Templates Changes
Admin Area Changes
I could go on here, but to make a long story short, it's actually everywhere I make changes within the BZ.

Interesting. Much like Brian earlier, I gave it a test on your forum and made several changes in different areas you mentioned (reverting them back, of course) and didn't have an issue with IE9. Can you give a couple of things a try and see if either of these work? In IE, click the gear icon in the top-right hand corner of the browser, then navigate to Safety > InPrivate Browsing. In the new window that comes up, visit the forum and make some changes to see if this mode makes any difference to your saving success rate. If you notice no change with the InPrivate Browsing mode, close Internet Explorer. Then on your computer navigate to: Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools In this list, click the "Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)" option and try again with this. This will launch Internet Explorer with all add-ons disabled allowing us to find out if maybe there's an add-on installed in the browser that's causing the trouble. Once you've been able to give those a test, let me know what you're able to find out

Hello Ricky...
The InPrivate Browsing did not change anything and still got those errors. Also clicked the IE (No Add-ons) options > disabled with the same results of errors poping up.

Thanks for giving it a try. I have linked this topic to our developers so that they can look into this issue further

Well I finally solved my problem by doing a few 'trail by error' solutions and came up with our router. Removed it and went directlly to the ISP modem to my computer and everything working great! Once I placed the router back inline with the modem and computer, the errors came as fast as I could x them out.
Router gone, wired in!
Thanks Brian and Ricky for all your assistance in this matter. "Go v5"

Thanks Brian and Ricky for all your assistance in this matter. "Go v5" Thanks for letting us know, glad to hear it's working for you now. One thing I might suggest, rather than hooking directly into your modem, try resetting your router back to the factory defaults by pushing in the small "Reset" button that should be located at the back of your router. This will reset the router back to how it was when you first bought the router, so be sure to write down any needed settings that you have set currently so that you can try re-implementing them again in the future. Once you have the router reset, connect back to it and see if this makes a difference

Hello Ricky...
Thanks for the advice on that router and I have done that several times with no reset happening. I've had that router for some 7 plus years and think it has seen it's days.
Anyways... everything now up and running just great.
