Searchable Labels

It's easy to create Labels for Threads and the Labels are easily seen in a Board, but Labels aren't returned when performing a Search.

For example, with my site I created list of Labels for the various genres in Fiction ebooks. It is easy to Label that thread as a genre - Mystery and Suspense - for example, but searching on one or both words using the Search function fails to return the thread or threads containing a Label.

For testing purposes I've created a V5 General Discussion board in which you can see the Label 'Testing Testing' in a couple of Threads. I've created two Labels; Testing Testing, and Testing2 Testing2. Testing2 is in red.

I can see Labels being quite useful for many Forums besides my Smashwords forum, and having the ability to Search for Labels would be quite a benefit.

Solution found, but is it the right one?

I believe there may still be a usefulness for a searchable Labels plugin and here's why.

Clicking on the little magnifying glass opens quite a powerful and
simple search function once you know about it, but most visitors and
even most members usually input a search string in the Search text area
in a Thread, or use the Search function in the main menu.

A visitor not knowing about the magnifying glass, or being used to simply using a Search function to search for things like Labels, would not be able to find what Label he/she was searching for and thereby miss an opportunity of benefiting from that forum.

In the case of my forum some Labels are used for book genres, so having a plugin which can be enabled for specified forums and will have a button with a custom text box for something like "Search Genres" would make it easier for visitors and possibly members. Clicking on the button would open the Label list for that particular button, allow multiple choices to be made from the list, and then return that list when an Okay button is clicked.

Or even something simple like changing the magnifying icon to a text button with Search Options on it would probably do the trick.
 
I'll leave it to coders and readers of this thread to decide if another way of searching on Labels would be useful.

I think Searching Labels via a plugin (if not possible from the main navbar search) would be useful as well.

Though labels are 'board level' most of our boards are going to have the same nine labels and it'd be nice to label searching to return results across at the very least a whole category if not the whole forum.

I know but only searchable board by board, the rest of my message details that it'd be nice if this was across at 'least a whole category if not the whole forum' for those of use where all/most of the boards will have the same labels.

If I missed something in the post above my original one that allows me to do this please point it out as I've missed it again.
