Never saw this plug-in until now. I have a couple questions. 1) Do I have to pay for extra storage in order to use this plug-in and post pictures? Right now, our gallery is at flickr.com, and we post "links" to our images. 2) Will this work with Firefox? 3) Will it automatically size images? My members frequently post images of 12x12 paper (we are a scrapbooking community), and that size is just too large for storing. Hi, No, you will not have to pay for extra storage to use this plugin. Having never used flicker, I can't say for sure, but if you can post images hosted at flicker on your forum, you should be able to simply use the image URLs from flicker to display them in the gallery. If you choose to allow comments for your images you will need a key, but unless you are out of keys, then that will also be free. Yes, it works in Firefox. The images will be rsized, either to fill the space allowed in the gallery, or, if you choose 'Non-Linear' mode, the images will be displayed as thumbnails that will be displayed at a lerger size when clicked on... Even then, the images will be restricted to the size you choose. In both cases, clicking on the image will display it full size in a new window. Hope that answers everything. If not, just yell.

I have a couple of questions:
1. Couldn't I achieve the same purpose by creating a password-protected board (by putting members into groups) and the member can simply post whatever they want in there, including pics?
2. Can I make this available only to certain selected members instead of all members? I want to make this a reward or a purchasable item.

Hi, You can do this by creating a ne group, and putting those members that are allowed to view/post in the Gallery into that group. You then need to change the Board Permissions to allow that group access to your Gallery Board.

That would be ideal for a problem we are trying to solve!

Oh, Just to be clear, we already have a members galleries board. Would we need to create a new board for this one shared gallery?

If you want a gallery with different restrictions, then yes, you would need to create another board. I have seen a forum that set aside a whole category for galleries, and then have seperate boards for different groups.

I've installed this in my forum but not sure how it can be useful. I installed it for another purpose but I discovered it couldn't be used for that other purpose. So, I now have it in my forum but no idea how it can be useful or beneficial to my forum users. Probably lack of imagination on my part. Also, I suppose it depends on the kind of forum you have.

OK, we created a new board and the admin created a gallery in that board. We added a group to the permissions for that board, but none of them can add to the gallery. I suspect we didn't do something, but need some guidance.

The plugin has a checkbox for social galleries, but we only want the one new gallery to allow more than one person to add images.

The plugin has a checkbox for social galleries, but we only want the one new gallery to allow more than one person to add images. Ahh.. Now you have found an issue. With the plugin as it currently is, you can either have all your galleries as social galleries, or none. You CAN get around this... If you allow social galleries in the plugin settings, when you create a gallery you get the option to allow other members to add images to it. You can remove that option by adding this to the boards' header(s) that you do NOT want to allow social galleries.. <style>#socialGallery { display: none; }</style>

Hm... I believe I did as you directed, but it is not working. I checked the social galleries, added the line to the header of the board with all the member galleries in it and confirmed that I still can not add to another member's gallery, but I still can not add an image to the new board holding the social gallery.
