hmm ive never really been worried about editing comments I think it is a necessary feature as we are all humans and most of us make mistakes. As a member of my forum you probably have seen that a member did just that and left a comment which was not intended to be left in the gallery. Removing such mistakes is what keeps a forum neat and tidy and more enjoyable for those who use it. I have experienced like many, spam and abusive post, and like to stay on top of doing my admin responsibilities of running a forum fit for all, young or old.

I have sort of found how to edit comments left by members. I say this as I still have a question for you. First I never try anything new on my forum until I have tested it on my Test Forum. OK I have found that with the 3.1.1 version if I Just left click on the comments panel a box pops up and you can edit or delete in that box. Great that is all I needed to know and do. I tried it on my main forum and yes done what I wanted to do. Now while playing I thought I'd try the new 3.1.4 version in my Test Forum and now I can't get it to work. So two questions. First if I upgrade my 3.1.1 version do I lose existing members galleries or will they still be intact? Plus what would I gain by doing so? Yup, left clicking on the comments should enable you to delete any comments that shouldn't be there.. As for updating to version 3.1.4, if 3.1.1 is working it's not necassary.. You'll not gain anything, as the only difference is the way a function is called. If you do decide to upgrade, you should not lose any galleries or comments.. The new plugin should simply replace the existing one.

Great. Many thanks for your help. I'll stick with the 3.1.1 version. Why try to fix what isn't broken. I did try 3.1.4 on my test forum and now have it working ok. As you say I can't see any difference. Thanks again for your valuable time and experience.

Todge It's never ending what some members want. Have now been asked "can we have a like button in the galleries?" Have you considered this at any time? Could be another addition to an already fabulous plugin.

I have a member who seems to be Able to like post in the gallery. I've pm him and asked how he dose it, So far he has not responded. I've tried all avenues but had no success. If you go to my forum and access the gallery you will see at the top of most post "happy snapper likes this".

I can't seem to find any galleries on your forum that are open for me to view, but you should be able to use the standard PB Like system to like individual pictures. Just click the Thumbs Up button at the top right of the image.

Thanks Todge I have worked out why it is not showing on my forum. I moved the like button on all post to the bottom of the page. This has stopped the Galleries from showing it. Cure was to reinstate like button to top. All works fine now. All's well that ends well.

Hi, I just installed this and think it will be a great way to create a "virtual Christmas bazaar" for my guinea pig-themed forum (piganon.proboards). I haven't had a chance to read back through all of the posts on this support thread yet, and will do that shortly, but I have a couple of questions in the meantime:
1. I only want to use this myself (for now) to create galleries for things like "guinea pig-shaped cookies," "Guinea pig ornaments," "Guinea pigs dressed up for Christmas" etc. Is there a way to set this so that other members can't create galleries?
2. How do I create a Comments section for each gallery? I saw it referenced in the instructions, but haven't been able to locate how to set this up.
Many thanks! This looks like it will be a lot of fun.
ETA: 3. When I added image number 11, it put it on page 2 rather than filling up the last remaining open thumbnail spots on page 1. Is that a glitch? Is there a way to change the number of thumbnails that will appear on a single page?
Thanks again!

Hi, I have one other, possibly more pressing question to add: Is there a way to change the name of a Gallery? I can't seem to find a way to Edit a Gallery once it has been created, other than to add additional images.
It's a great plug-in, though, and I'm enjoying setting it up for the Christmas section on my forum. Thanks again.

There is, yes. You would have to set restrictions on the Gallery Board. In your Admin Panel, go to 'Structure' and select Categories & Boards. Click on your Gallery Board, and select 'Edit Properties' at the top.. A window should pop-up. In the pop-up, select 'Permissions' and make sure 'Who can create threads on the board...' is not set to 'Everyone'.. Save Changes and all should be good. To allow the comments section, you will need to download and install the companion Comments Plugin. Once that is installed the Gallery Plugin should see it and enable comments. The amount of thumbnails generated for each page is governed by your forum settings. Increase the amount of posts per page by the amount of missing thumbnails and all should be good. To change the name of the Gallery. edit the opening post and you can change the gallery title at the top. You are most welcome.

It's strange...it didn't seem to give me an option to do that. Could be a glitch; I might try un-installing and re-installing to see if that helps. This information is extremely helpful; thank you so much for taking the time to walk me through it. So many terrific plug-ins available, and this is one of them!

Hi, I'm still having some issues with this. I love the format and finding it so easy to create galleries, but for some odd reason my comments aren't showing up. I created an additional field to give credit to the artist, but that doesn't show up, either (looks like it fades in briefly at the bottom, and then disappears).
Do you know what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks very much again.
