During beta testing I don't recall seeing this feature thus why bring my feature request. Do forgive me if I've overlooked it.
Is it possible to set a default avatar for a respective member group ("MG")? Example: A company has 3 subsidiaries and therefore 3 MG's showing respective alignments. When someone joins their respective MG then their personal avatar (if they haven't chosen one already) would change to the MG's default avatar. If this isn't feasible then perhaps when the user chooses to show that MG in their profile it would auto-sense the group and display the MG avatar instead of the personal avatar. I do hope this make sense but I'll gladly clarify. I have a feeling this could be accomplished with templates and plugins but would have no idea how to code that. Nevertheless, worth suggesting to find out for sure. ~Andrew

Like the idea, however if this is not to be a feature, it could probably be done with a plugin.

I like this idea, but like RedBassett said it can be done with a plugin most likely.

I believe that PB has said they will be adding user groups to the PBData. If/when they do this will be very simple

So there's a few things going on with this request.
First implementing this would be a bit crazy for a default feature. You'd have to assign an image to every group. The groups page is already jam packed full of too many options as it is right now. If we added a way to do this from the Avatar page it would once again get a little out of control.
Second. Most people in v5 will be in multiple groups. How do we determine which avatar displays? By the group they currently have active? Most anyone who is advanced enough to edit their display group is going to fall into my third point.
Third. Nearly everyone on a forum has a custom avatar. That invalidates this feature 98% of the time entirely. You can just go see how many people have the forum default avatar. Not a lot (outside of people who have less than 5 posts).
If you really really wanted this feature you could have a plugin made. I'm not 100% sure that the group data is available on the page in PBData, but as mentioned above I think we're adding it. So if it cant be don't now it should be done soon.
Overall this would be a lot of work and restructuring of existing admin pages for a feature that we don't think would see a lot of use. Sorry, but thanks for the idea.

Sorry, but thanks for the idea. Thank you very much for your reply Ryan Roos. I didn't mean for it to be an overbearing request. I've found a work around (which has worked for me in V4 and V4.5) by adding the image statically to the group name itself. Thanks for all the replies! ~Andrew
