In v4.5 we have the option to print out an entire thread by clicking a PRINT button. If we can do the same in v5, I didn't see it in any of the action menus. May we have it back, please?

That's because you can just hit your browser's print button and it automatically switches to using our "print" css which is basically simplified black and white styles. There is no longer any need for a separate page.
If you view any page's source code, you'll see this line of code that tells your web browser to switch CSS when printing a page:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="print" href="http://4d5.net/f/print.css">

If you just print the page, the print formatting will be applied.And VS Admin got that one before me!

In v4.5 I used to use the print option to read through lengthy threads rather than keep paging through, it was all loaded so no speed issues waiting for pages to load. Once in print view I also used CrtlF to find specific stuff. I'll need to play around I think to see if I can still do the same via browser print.

If you want to search for something on multiple pages, use the search box at the top right of the thread. The 'print' page in v4.5 loaded a lot of data (especially in very long threads) which caused slowdowns for our servers.

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of the search function Patrick, I take your point about slowdowns for your servers. It depends on what the forum content is Refurbished. Love the pic Ryan

I didnt know people actually printed topics. Some people find advice or instructions in a thread they want to keep handy. Others want a hard copy of their rp plots and original material. I'm sure there are other reasons out there. As greety says, it depends on the forum content. It also depends on the forum user and their needs. Fortunately for us all, ProBoards can be flexible.

Put it in feature requests, if you haven't already. In the meanwhile, remember that most browsers have an 'email link' option. You can use that for now.
