Hmmmm this is more for admin. I was wondering if there was anything for board members like features of what's to come and what will happen once the switch is made, thanks

Suppport is running in V5 at the moment, if you haven't already, you can go to proboards.com/betazone and sign up, you will then be able to get a v5 copy of your board, and let your members try it out

Just remember it is only a test copy, so don't post anything important on there, though you can do any design work and save that for when V5 is launched fully

Proboards five is terrible. We have spent 5+ years on stuff, just to have it completely break and Enhanced Codes are no more. I used to click on ads 5+ times a day just so they'd be getting clicks, and voted nearly every day for "best forum". That is not the case anymore. Fix things, make things better - but this has gone from improvement, to mess everyone over and have to spend hours re-doing everything and re-learning everything. 

I will click on zero ads from now on, and I will vote against proboards for whatever other forum is their biggest competition, and if possible - we'll be moving. But we're stuck - 5+ years of daily content, down the drain. Thank you proboards for you kindness. I'm archiving our site as is, and I hope you fail.

Are you sure that a plugin for your enhanced code has not been ported over to v5 yet? Or maybe you could ask a coder to port it for you?

there is a plugin for the enhanced tables and style tags? i wasn't aware of this, and i had looked only the other day for one. i keep seeing threads requesting the plugin though, like this one.

Wouldn't it be better if you converted to V5 checked how it looks and what works or not and then ask for ways to fix them instead of acting like this?

Got a problem with a code that aint working as it should, ask for a plugin or help altering the template sheets or any other way there might be to fix it for you, there are lots of kind coders and helpers and staff that will gladly help out to fix them for you.

and i've already gone to mine and checked it out and am having the same problem. the plugin for it has been requested, but i've been reading mixed responses of whether v5 will include such codes. i have managed to get parts of the code to work on my v5 tester, but not all the codes work. like the scrolling and floating images, which have already been posted by several people in the plugin section. i've linked one such thread in my post above.

it took me a while to learn how to make the enhanced style tables for posting, including the v2 style tags that iPokemon created, and now it is all pretty much going to waste. i will now have to recode everything i've done already because the codes aren't working on my v5 tester. i have tried the new codes created found here and here and it still isn't working for me. if there is to be a plugin created soon for this, then i stand corrected and will patiently wait for it. but, again, i've read mixed posts about whether it will be done or not.

I have checked it out and worked with it and am still hoping to find some redeeming quality, that's why I can confidently say that I don't like it. It broke all of our codes, hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of posts, the admin panel is ten times are more complicated and convoluted, too many menus, too many places to get lost in. If this switch could be made without me having to put in hours and hours and hours of work relinking, editing posts so it's not a bunch of HTML garbage, and re learning an entirely new way to skin and design, I'd be happier about it. But at this point with as much work as I'm going to have to do just to get my site back to normal, I might as well go to a whole new place that functions better than this. I'd probably be spending the same amount of hours, if not less, and less frustration that after 5 years and thousands of clicks and votes I gave them, we loose everything we worked on for years. 

It's not pleasant, and doesn't make for very good customer service. It's a bit like the airline services. For years people were used to checking their bags for free. Then suddenly they had to pay to do the same thing. We had an expectation of proboards and I personally did a lot to support that expectation, and then they change it so drastically we gotta "pay" with hours of our time just to get back to square one. That's pretty much b.s. 

So, I was vocal for them when liked and supported them, I don't have a problem being vocal when it changes so drastically I dislike it.

It's a test copy it will not do anything to you're main forum.

The admin panel is a bit harder to look around for me, but you'll get use to it, everyone get's used to anything as long as they keep using it and you do know this is not you're main forum, right?

This is a test copy, it may possibly fixed by april 29th, as it says on the top this is just a test copy

What are you talking about, ProBoards is completly free the only thing that is pay is AdFree which has always been money, there is the new store which may have pay stuff but you don't NEED to buy it buying it helps ProBoards out, which you said that you have done by clicking ads on the above post. You seem to be a bit confused on this, this is just a test copy.

i think she is referring to her v5 tester copy site. we know it gets deleted eventually, but we were given those tester sites to fiddle with the new version so we can get used to it. she is saying that after having worked through hers, she is still having trouble with some of the more commonly used codes that she uses. i am having the same issues. the only thing i am really concerned about in this changeover is the style tags that are not working properly. several requests have been made for them, but so far no plugins have been made.

and she meant 'pay' as in metaphorically, not literally. meaning pay for it in the sense of losing time by trying to fiddle with it. not actually paying money for it.

Yes I can see the "pay with all or hours of time" now, jumped to the literal sense.

I'm guessing that the codes you are talking about are codes located in the Headers and Footers (main/Global/Board) on your current board and is not doing what they should in the V5 board?

When converting the board into V5 it automatically removes all the codes in the Headers/Footers and adds them to a separate part of the V5 version of the Headers/Footers
Click Admin -> Structure -> Headers & Footers - and you will see all the Headers/Footers for all your board. On the Right side of them You will see an icon kinda looking like a page with a clock in it, that will show you All the codes and other things You have there on your current board and from there you can copy them and add them to the V5 Headers or Footers and see if they work.

Some codes will not work in the headers/footers anymore in the V5 version like Java script (iirc someone correct me if I am wrong) and has to be made into a plugin but HTML codes will still work in the headers/footers (again correct me if I am wrong) and can just be transfered into the V5 version of the headers and footers to see how they act.

I too am new to all of this and am waiting for some things to be altered or get the knowhow as of how to alter things myself (not a coder or a compwizz) but also know that all of this is new to everyone else too and patiantly awaits for things to get solved, sure it would be awesome and wonderful if everything would work as I wanted right away but thats not realistic and can not be expected either imo.

I see that you only have 2 posts made on this board which tells me that you haven't been on the plugins request board and asked about getting plugins for codes not working and other things so, if you haven't checked your current headers and footers codes in your V5 version yet Do that and when you find a code that aint working head over to the plugins request or template modification boards and ask for help there and im pretty sure that if there is someone out there that can fix it (and i bet there is) they will help you setting things up and solve your issues.
