This was supposed to be a feature already. It looks like a mistake was made in the admin area. Where it says Enable Falling, that feature should make the entire board falling, not enable and disable the falling feature. We don't turn on/off other features like lock and sticky. The same is true for falling by default.

If I understand Ryan correctly, he is saying that this is supposed to be a feature, but instead of turning falling on an off on the whole board, as you are saying, it was accidentally set to turn on and off the falling option on posts (stop users from using falling).

You requested a feature that was supposed to be there, but didn't get built correctly.

What RedBassett said is correct. We intended for boards to be set into full falling mode so that they could be used more like a blog where every thread is in order of creation and doesn't reorder based on posting replies. However there was a miscommunication with one of the devs and they made it an on/off switch for the falling feature. We have a task to correct this.
