The plugin is working GREAT!!! Just had a thought about an enhancement. Any chance you can add an ID attribute to the <INPUT> tags based on the field name so I can reference the Inputs in CSS? Thinking this might be enhanced others would benefit from too!

What does that mean? The directions are in the plugin, you don't have to type any coding to make it work. What is the list of the code?

Testing this out right now, Shorty, again my apologies for the ridiculous delay and thank you for the congrats on the job. =3 It looks like it will work perfectly, especially if this thread is true support.proboards.com/thread/498140/user-posted-thread ?? Will post back to verify if I can for sure use this but as it stands now it's looking like I can, which is extremely exciting! The new options are perfect and I can't thank you enough for modifying for me, truly it means a lot.

EDIT: Question, can there be only one Form ID per board? I have two Form IDs entered, Appearance and Post, and the difference is for Post I have the textarea taller than the textareas for Appearance. Appearance has 3 in it, Post has 1, and only the Appearance ones are showing up in the board that I applied both Appearance and Post to. Sorry if that made no sense.

Hey Shorty, thanks so much for your Custom Post Template plugin! This is exactly what I wanted to be able to create a form for people to fill out when posting. I like that you can choose a different form for different boards, that you can require certain fields, & that you can choose if it should be used when creating a new thread or replying or both!

There are however a couple requests I was hoping you could help me with...

1st, is it possible to change the settings of the plugin to allow you to change the look/setup/arrangement of the posting form itself? In other words, instead of it being a table with 3 columns (name, input type, description), could could give us a tab like the Customize Post tab to using coding to change how these items are arranged... so maybe I could have 2 smaller input boxes next to each other on the same row? If this is not possible... could you at least change it so that (either you can check a box for this to happen or it's just set to do this automatically) if you don't put a description in, the inbox box or textbox will span the the 2nd to columns? In the image below, I would like to not have a description for my text area & for the box to span across both columns.

2nd, could you make it so that the post editing buttons for formatting, adding links & images, adding a user link, etc will still show up when creating a post using the form? Most of my forum users do not know how to add in these formatting options & other functions without these buttons - & while I know they can go back & edit their posts to use these, that's just an extra step that would be both confusing & too much for people to bother doing. I don't know if maybe you could put a checkbox in the settings for each input field that would allow the formatting buttons to work for each of them, so you could choose for them to not be able to use them in the first input boxes but in the text area online, or what.

3rd, can you make the Quick Reply box unavailable when you choose to have the post forms for both creating new threads & replying? Because if they click the reply button, they'll get the form again, but if they just use the quick reply they won't. Alternatively, could the form appear in the quick reply with the "both" option is chosen?

1st - it's possible. I could do the tab, i'd just have to figure out a way to still have the fields for certain groups only show for certain groups. i'm not sure how i'd do it though. so this one may take a while.

2nd - i'm sure it's possible, but I'm not sure how to accomplish it.

3rd - possible. i'll probably just make the form show in the quick reply.

I was redirected here with a question I had. Is there a way for this plugin to work on custom pages? Im trying to do something like this on a "Support" page for my members



I like your plugin, but the only issue I have with it is that I have to use boards for the forms, for the time being Im just going to have a private board set up for this, but if a few modifications can make your plugin work on a custom page that would be marvelous (I have no skills in coding, so I cant help with that sorry ^^; ) What Im hoping for is-- well I'll just link you (it will be much easier to understand than me trying to explain it) support.proboards.com/thread/520400/html-help?page=1&scrollTo=5955722

Hello Shorty, I've received the error when attempting to create a thread from custom templates "You must provide a message."

I referenced this help thread and noticed you referred back to the original post, which links to the download available on proboards. This matches the same version (v1.0.1) have installed on my forums which is giving me the error. Additionally, I noticed in this thread that there was reference to a dropbox file, however the link does not work anymore. Can you help? Thanks in advance.

Thanks I removed the plugin and then reinstalled and am no longer getting this error.
