Firstly, I will let you know that this is for a rap battle site and what I am aiming for is a template to set up one on one matches:

I need the default topic field to automatically have the posters username entered in it with "vs" next to it, and for it to be hidden while posting. ex. Username vs

Then an input field to enter an opponents name
and then a text area.

So to sum it up: the only thing visible will be a field to enter the opponents name, and a text area to post a verse.
The default topic field is hidden and automatically has "the posters username vs" entered in it.
The results of the created post will be:
Username vs Opponents Name
Battle Verse

Here is a sketch of the template:

This only needs to be set for thread starters and not post.
Can ya do it or not?

I was trying to use the custom template post plugin by Shorty, and I was wondering if you could help me with certain values.

For example, I want that when you choose for instance:

Do you want to continue? Yes/No

If you say yes, certain text will show in the post reply

If you say no, it'll say: You have finished with this round!

Yes or no would be this:

$[input.value-1] Yes

$[input.value-2] No

So I know that certain CSS or javascript (I'm not sure), especially on layout templates, show things like "if" values, could you please help me with this?

I'll expand my post and see if there's something I can do now. In case there's no possibility to do something like this, I'll suggest one of this solutions for the plugin:

There's a certain section, let's call it Section 1 (a Pokémon RPG)
On that section, when you create a thread, you fill the form and then you get random dices for many aspects such as Pokemon, level of the pokemon, ability, etc (I've done this already), and then, when you reply that topic, I want to get the combat phase (using the custom template), I already done this, but then I want a third phase and I kind only think of two ways in order to do it:

1. The first would be that when you press reply thread, you can choose what custom template to use (I know there's a plugin so users can create their own custom template, but I want them to use the templates for the section, and the templates that I want, so they can follow the system). So, it'd be good if the plugin of custom templates would let you choose between multiple custom templates created for a same board (for example, you can choose when you repliy either use Form ID 2, or Form ID 3, while Form ID 1 is for when you create the thread, not replying to i)

2. What I was talking before, using something like "if" value, so first, users would get into the combat phase (random dices as well), so they would select Combat Phase on the form generated by the custom template, and the information in the post will be the one inside this "if" value (I'm saying if value as an example, whatever think that would change the information displayed it's fine for me), and then, if you choose instead of combat phase, the "capture phase", it would display the capture phase information.

I know I've made a long post, I tried to explain myself as good as I can.

Shorty is currently on a hiatus, so support for his plugin wont be very forthcoming from him until he returns. Getting it to work on a normal forum can possibly be done, but he wont be making any changes to it any time soon.

I have just installed this plugin and created a form for a specific board.

When i go to create a new thread in that board the Subject bar appears and a section underneath with "This thread has no effects applied to it."

And it wont let me create a post or anything

I am new here on ProBoards. Well knid of I started a Froum for veterans before and it is ok.

But now I am making a Forum for Poker Players.Poker Coach's,Poker Backers (Stakers),Poker Software Tools.

I have only touched the tip of the iceberg with making a Board for Coaching. And then listing all the differetn types of Poker Coaching there is. It is so enormous it takes 10 minutes ot get to the bottom for the ShoutBox. LOL

I my tiny litle brain I thought I could make the categories and sub-categories first. Then create a Response Form that the Poker Coach could just input his information and alot of check boxes for others. I did it with Google Form Response Maker. Biggest Mistake of my My life and as a New Forum Builder. I can't do a darn thing with it as all the information goes into a Google Spread Sheet. And it does not list on my Forum in the Categories and Sub-Categories.

And after reading this thread I must ask a couple of questions before I just run out and get it and then realize it is not what I need or can operate.

Question #1
Will the plug-in allow me to Creeate a fillable Form with the categories and sub-categories linked to it?

Question #2
As I think I hope I understand this; The plug-in will allow me to Make or Create a (Category,Board,Thread) with the Pre-installed questions?
And as a result of answering the Pre-installed Questions the Member's response is subsequently saved and published in the Sub-Category.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Do you mind looking at my Forum before replying and see how I have it set-up and see if this plug-in would benefit me. i dont want to waste your time. As I have posted in so many places about wanting to add Code to the Response Form that would automatically enter it into the correct place on my Forum.

Okay, just found out that's HTML stuff... but how do you do tables that autopopulate with info from the form? Is that doable?
