Reply to see hidden content

Hi

I hope someone can please help.  I am looking to see if
someone can create a plugin which will make someone have to reply to see hidden
content.

So something for example that will say have an image
saying hidden content reply to unlock (or something similar even just written in text) and then
once they have replied to the thread the image will change to allow them
to click to the content.

yes i am interested, one forum does use something like that in v4.5 pb, (and also v4.5 had >posts that guests can read a message /text in post but hide from members, also a members can read but hid from guests. i havent started getting that forum ready yet for v5 because it will be the most difficult, im doing the easy ones 1st to get comfortable with v5)

I'm sure Xikeon made a plugin for this on Slightly Insane, but never posted it properly, because he did it as an example of it could easily be done. I think on the forum he did upload the plugin, but I honestly can't remember what topic (or even what board).
Hopefully by tagging him he will see and reply. Though, I have also sent him a PM on SI.

Hi SiGa, here is what Xikeon replied to me:

"I did make it, but it wasn't proper like you would wish to have it. Someone without JS would still see it."

I didn't ask if he still had it, but I can do if you wish to still use it.

What it does is allows you to use hide Message /hide [hide]Message[/hide] tags in your posts that will hide that text from any member/guest until they reply to that thread.

However, there are some downsides. The main one being that the information being displayed isn't permanent. That is, when the user clears their cookies or their cookies get full, the message will become hidden again. Other than that, I believe I have got rid of the remaining bugs, at the expense of needing two sections, one for the Header and one for the Footer.

Has anyone managed to make a plugin with this feature? IE Hidden content in a thread that can only be seen once a reply has been submitted.

Pro boards has one, created by wormopolis that requires the member to like the post to view attachments.
