A little coding help

So I am in the process of transferring all the cool stuff from my forum to the beta version. How ever, there are some codes that I have no clue what to do, to make them work.

Firstly I have this moon phase code, which I want to add to my sidebar. In v4 I can just add it in the headers, however in the v5, I have no clue how to make it work.

Do I need to do something fancy to make it work and turn it into a plug-in or what, if so then I have no clue how to do it. Managed to figure out with the word count I have, but that is as far my skills go with that.

Then Secondly

I have this twitter widget in my sidebar. It doesn't work when I add it in v5. Any suggestions on how to do that? Thanks for any help that flies my way.

worked for me when I just tried it. put it at the very bottom of the home page template, even below the {/if}

But i need to put it in one of the side tables on my forum. When i add it in the html section there the moon doesnt show up.

put it where I said first to see if it shows up at all. then we can look at where you are placing it.

Done and it shows up. Although now the forum text has emerged in my banner which is shouldn't. So need to have a look at that though.

Edit: Got the text removed. Now on to moving the moon thing to the left side table.

It looks like the plugin is stripping out the script tags.


so what I would do, is put a placeholder in the plugin where you want to have the widget show up. something like <div id="moonphases">/div>


then go into your forums headers/footers direct edit area, and do this:

ALL THE CODE FOR THE MOONWIDGET
</div>
<script type="text/javascript">
document.getElementById('moonphases').appendChild(document.getElementById('moontemp'));
</script>

Okay now I should have done as told, but it's still under the forum and not in the side table. Even added a < in <div id="moonphases">/div> so it said <div id="moonphases"></div> since it showed up as code in the side table. Still nada.

damn.. the sidetables arent created by the time that script needs to run.. you can try this, but its the last thing I can think of. if it doesnt work, you might have to ask the author of the side tables how to get scripts to run in them.
