Can we have a code or plugin that will place a "check spelling" button somewhere before we send our posts out?

I would like that too, I always used it on v4 to check my posts for spelling errors.

Your browser should have a spell checker built in, there's no need for a plugin. If your browser doesn't have one built in, it's probably pretty old and should be updated/changed anyway. You can also look for add ons for your browser (for the older versions of IE, if you insist on using them, I know some other members have suggested one called IESpell).

The small problem for me is the browser I'm using (Firefox) is set in Dutch language so every English word I type it marks as wrong. But yeah it's true for the majority of people it would be unneccesarily I guess to have a plugin for this.

Have a look on the Firefox support site, because I'm sure you can change the default language. If you're writing both Dutch and English online, you should be able to switch between the two by right-clicking and there should be something like "Spell check options".

Oh sweet, I installed an English dictionary to my browser and now it checks English spelling. I never realized that was changeable, thanks a lot!

So I take it, there will be no spell check plug in even considered...

Unlikely. There was an earlier request here for one which links to another thread (which then links to another) with various reasons as to why and solutions for people using obsolete browsers that don't have spell checking built in.
