As someone who learned to code from 4.5, I'm really getting quite frustrated on how to figure out ID's of -anything- on this new system. Like I want the group ID's/classes to add CSS to, can't figure out how to do that one. I want to add different colored borders (For example, 5 px solid of a blue on the right, and 5 px solid of a red on the left, and black on top and on bottom, every time I try to add that, it says there's a error. I really want the same freedom that I had before. I like the fact that yes, it's easier to click this button to get this, but...it makes it harder for the people who code literally and type in their code letter by letter and number by number. Is there any way we can get a tutorial on what's up with this? I've been stumbling my way through this so far, and I'm by far a frustrated admin. I like the ease that I had with having different div's here and there, and there's only so much I can do before I just flip a table.
Specifically, I want to know either the ID's that I can use and tag on to the bottom of the proboard's cluster of CSS. Shrike and other members have helped me out on getting board descriptions, but you see I get lost. Shrike and other coders know right off the bat to look for. ".boards .main. description" isn't something I can automatically pick out of that laggy mess to know that I could work with it this way or that way. While yes, I can figure out if I have the tabbed table, I can assign classes for that lickity split, but when it comes to Proboards itself, this is where I'm losing a little bit of hope I did have that this would just be as easy on coders. I prided myself on having different forums with different certain gimmicks here and there. Is there anyway to help a amateur coder like me out? Or are we left in the dust to just kinda fumble our way around? Proboards has become my favorite thing to code, and has been the starting point for my dreams and educational future. I don't want to get so frustrated with this system that it leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
Please and thank you for all the help you can give me, since I want to create theme after theme that lets me and my members have something beautiful to look at.
