Request: Modify Info Center Member Count

I'm not sure if this should be a template or a plugin, but I would like to be able to modify the total member count in the info center so it doesn't count one of the usergroups. I run a roleplay site where we retire characters that go inactive instead of deleting the accounts, and I'd like the member count to reflect active accounts. I used a code in v4.5 that let me edit the main footer and manually add or subtract numbers to the count in the info center. I'd be happy with something like that too.

I also run a RP site and we're going to trial individual character accounts so I'd like to be able to exclude a membergroup (e.g. IC Accounts) from the total membercount - so that the member count accurately reflects active members (we delete inactive ones) , but like tonytime I'd be happy with some sort of manual subtraction.

I think it's a really important statistic for RP sites, and one people check when looking at potential sites ^^
