I am so glad that a sidebar plug in has been added, however, after importing it, I can't get my betazone test site to look anything like my original site. It's nowhere near as smooth. I would like to have title images and they are currently set to 280px width and100px height, so I can't get my titles to work for a start. Everything on my original site has been sized to have sidebar boxes set to 280px with my main forum at apparently 700px width. {Was told that by another admin that it was this width} ALL 60 plus site banners/headers have been made at 700px width and 250px height. But looking at the new layout they are no longer going to be applicable and I am NOT re-making them all again. I'm disabled and unable to work, my proboards site for creative writing was my fun thing and release but right now with this change looming, I am having anything but fun. Can the sidebar plug in make the boxes look more like this on my original site:-

There are so many other questions that I have - but I will ask about them under the general v5 discussion and hope that I get them answered, or I am going to give up on proboards and stop writing. With my health conditions I really can't be doing with all of this stress and that's what it is to me. I am finding the admin panel fairly easy to work but the codes and plugins are going to be such a headache to me.

Hi Mands,

Under themes set the forum width to the 700px you want. I think it's in the Easy Theme Creater bit.

Then go to the plugin.

Start by disabling the right sidebar, your V4 layout doesn't look like it needs it.

Use the custom width box to set the left sidebar to your 280px and then we can see what it looks like and go from there.

(I'm not a coder but I've been messing with this plugin a lot recently so hopefully can help)

I will give it a try and see how it goes. I kind of want to get to grips with the main thing I want which is setting the sidebar correctly, everything else I can add bit by bit at a later date. The sidebar was the one thing I most wanted to keep. I did have a feeling that those who had been messing about for longer than me, may have some sort of answers, thanks.

The sidebar seems to sort of nest inside something that goes with the forum, you might need to set the forum width to 700 + sidebar width.

Thanks. It's trying to set the form width to 700px that I am having a little trouble with however. Trying to find out where to do that.

Try the 700 + sidebar width.

themes > easy > scroll down and forum width is there I think.

or

themes > medium > click on width (under the forum section - regardless of if it's greyed out)
