This plugin is very simple and straight forward. Simply replaces text with an image. This does not work for HTML elements and it is case sensitive.

This does not work when wanting to change forum category titles, forum "Legend", or Info Center "Forum Information & Statistics" on any forum.

By nature it does not work with spacing. It's designed to only replace a single word. Simply remove the spacing from the forum category and it works fine.

It also works fine for "Legend". As for "Forum Information & Statistics" (..well, Legend too, for that matter)... you can change that very easily in the forum template, it'd be a bit of a waste to use this code to do that.

Ah, it was not working for Legend when I was attempting it again last night. I will just keep trying it. I will just wait for someone to make a plugin that actually allows you to change the Infocenter I guess since we do not have access to the global CSS. I do not like the way proboards set any of the template stuff up at all, because it is "skin specific" and you would have to copy every bit of customized information into each and every skin thereafter. In my opinion, it should have just been global.

Oh well.

If you go into site name> Admin Home> Themes Layout> Templates

Select HOME

CTRL + F for Legend, then Forum Stat and change the text as described below.

once it loads change Legend to Legendary or something else or anything with legend on the board will change into the image to. It needs to be one word. So, for my Forum Statistics, I change the word to kite. As my site is a warrior cat roleplay it will never probably come up. xD Now it works beautifully.

Okay, so I squealed when seeing this and thought my prayers answered.

But alas! I wanted this to replace users screen-names and group-titles in the mini-profiles, but it seems the plug-in replaces those words anywhere but there.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this just impossible with this plug-in?

You want to use [this plugin] to replace display names with an image, however it apparently will not work with the alias plugin. If you use the "replace text with image" with the alias plugin it works... except it will also post any cascading instance of the word in any post that name appears in.

We are having a similar issue over on our forums with that, but meh, we will figure out a way around it.

For group titles you can simply place the ubbc image tag or <img alt="Group Name Here" src="url to image here"> in place of the text.

The other plug-in works, yes.. but as you say, it also replaces the word(s) everywhere on the board. I would really like if it could be limited to only members name in the mini-profiles, but maybe that option will show up along the way.

You can try what we did, we made the member's name unique.. such as placing a number or something after it.

Example:

Alex (Alter character) becomes Alex1. Alex1 is added to the text-to-image plugin and given an image to replace his name. Whenever mention of "Alex" then appears in posts the image does not show up because its not referencing "Alex1". By making the name unique, and no longer generic, you get the same outcome of the text-to-image plugin replacing that name in mini-profiles yet not in an actual thread text.

Sry the late answer. I've been away from home for a few days.

But.. I thought of that, but wouldn't that also mean, that member's name would show up on the online list as either the picture, or in the case, "Alex1". Hence, still not limiting the text/image replacement to the mini-profile like it was possible on v4 with the "Mini-profile replace everything" script.

As of now I'll probably end up using none of the plug-ins. I'm can't really seem to get satisfied. When it looks nice in the mini-profile, it messes up the front page. I'm demanding, I know. x)
