@womenonly there are a lot of examples in this thread. We can't do it for you. I know it's a difficult set-up but you just have to experiment and, through trial and error, figure it out. Or even copy/paste an example from this thread into your settings and just swap out the parts with your own. We can only hold your hand so much with it

That isn't the correct way of inputting the sub nav links. Womenonly if you hover over the question marks by each field, it tells you what to do with that field. And the about page gives instructions for the sub nav part. I've been doing it that way for about a year now and it works. What am I doing wrong? Read the first post.

Also if you think it's hard to use the user interface and input the settings then please, i know i've asked multiple times before, suggest something that would make it easier and i'll do it.

I personally like the way it's set up. The only thing simpler I can think of would be to have it part of the plugin userface that you enter--like you put the link in one, select blank or self target from a drop down, and then name the link in 3 separate fields. When the last one is full, a new one generates. However if that is hard on you, don't worry about it--I truly don't mind this format

If so I can't because that'd need an autoform inside an autoform. I've requested it before but they shut that down. It'd be nice though. I literally tried to make it as simple to use as I could. I even explain how to use it in each question mark on the fields and I expalined in depth for the subnav part.

I think if people pay attention to the examples, it's not that hard. It's like following instructions, just do step a and b and you'll get the right result regardless. It's when people don't read or they skim or just jump right to "I don't know, I'm gonna post, help me now" that it becomes the problem. I really don't think there's anything wrong with the plugin. Again, just my opinion =3

Let me show you mine and that might help. That isn't the correct way of inputting the sub nav links. Shorty: I have hovered of those question marks. I still do not understand this.

Oh, Shorty, I just found out a potential problem. My member, logged into a completely non-staff account, says she sees my nav link Staff, which should only be showing up for staff. Do you have any idea why that might occur?

I've been doing it that way for about a year now and it works. What am I doing wrong? Read the first post. I've read the first post. As long as it works, what is the problem? I really don't see what I am doing wrong? I figure if it ain't broke don't fix it and its been working for almost a year now.

And the about page gives instructions for the sub nav part. Shorty: I have hovered of those question marks. I still do not understand this.
The question marks give you exactly what you need to put. But i'll try and explain it. Main Link Text: This is the text that is shown in the navigation menu. If it's the name of an existing button it will append the drop down to the existing button instead of creating a new one. Main Link URL: This is the URL the button in the navigation menu links to. Main Link Target: This is the target of the main button. _blank will open in new tab and _self will open in the current tab. Placement Name: This is the button in the menu that you want the new button to go before/after. Placement: Do you want the new button to go before or after the button with the name of the previous field. Who sees it: Who can see this new button? Subnav Links: These are the drop down menu links. Refer to the 'About' tab on the manage plugin section of this plugin in your admin panel or the first post of this thread for how to format this. This is seriously the best I can explain it. If you still don't understand then tell me what you want and and I can give you step by step directions. It really isn't that difficult. Oh, Shorty, I just found out a potential problem. My member, logged into a completely non-staff account, says she sees my nav link Staff, which should only be showing up for staff. Do you have any idea why that might occur? Link? I've read the first post. As long as it works, what is the problem? I really don't see what I am doing wrong? I figure if it ain't broke don't fix it and its been working for almost a year now. If you actually read it you should see that you are doing it wrong. It explicitly gives you the exact format for the subnav links section. It's only working by coincidence because the code is putting your full link as the name of another link. "If it ain't broke don't fix it." Just because it's working doesn't mean it isn't broken. It might work but you won't ever be able to utilize the sub-drop down menu feature of the plugin. If that's fine with you then so be it. I don't really care, just don't go telling other people to do it wrong too. Each new link in the subnav needs to be on its own line. This is an example of a new link without a sub-drop down menu on it. NAME|URL|TARGET NAME is the text of the link that is shown. URL is the url to the page you want the link to go to. Target needs to be either _blank (opens link in new tab) or _self(opens link in current tab). Now if you want a sub-drop down menu then the format is this: NAME|URL|TARGET|{SUB-LINK NAME,SUB-LINK URL,SUB-LINK TARGET} NAME is the text of the link that is shown. URL is the url to the page you want the link to go to. Target needs to be either _blank (opens link in new tab) or _self(opens link in current tab). SUB-LINK NAME is the text of the link that is shown. SUB-LINK URL is the url to the page you want the link to go to. SUB-LINK TARGET needs to be either _blank (opens link in new tab) or _self(opens link in current tab). Adding as many or as little {SUB-LINK NAME,SUB-LINK URL,SUB-LINK TARGET} as you want.

I didn't realize that it was wrong because it worked. Now I know, and obviously the directions were and are confusing. They really arent confusing at all as far as coding goes! Shorty has done a great thing for everyone making this drop down nav bar (for free) he didnt have to do it!
