Move Shoutbox Into Side Tables

Now I can't seem to be able to change the width no matter if I change it and save it.

I tried moving my shout box to a side bar by adding those codes to the global header and footer, but nothing. Ot is still at the bottom.

I tried in the beta forum as well, same result.

You forgot to insert the first code in my post into your sidebar. Please read over the post again and give it another try.

ah, ok I did miss that part. I have added that into the plugin side barr, and then the code for the GF, but nothing. I am doing this in the Beta forum, or should I go ahead and do it in the actual V5 forum ?
Sorry but this is all very new to me. I finally got the hang of the 4.5 version and now am trying to learn all of this. I also want to add images and scrolling slide shows type things to the side bar if possible.

That's entirely up to you. The beta forum is just a test zone for getting everything working and ready for your forum when it finally converts to V5.

Images can be added anywhere that accepts HTML with the following code:

<img src="URL TO IMAGE">

You'll probably want to search online for a slide show code.

Thanks Brian. I did find a site with slide shows, from here on PB on one of the threads. Vic's java scripts But I don't quite understand where and how to to it yet.

It's narrow because your sidebar itself is narrow. Increasing your sidebar width will increase the width of the shoutbox container.

Also, you should add this to your Global Header:

<style type="text/css">
/* Shoutbox takes up entire container */
#shoutbox > .content-box { border: 0; padding: 0px !important; }
</style>

Then in your sidebar settings, set the shoutbox container to Style 2.

Did all that and also increase the width...looks and works great. Thanks a million for all your help.

I'll read up and pick what I need from the link above to the slide show website.
