User Legend

So on v4 we had a legend in the info center that displayed the member groups and the colors associated with the group. Would love to have it with a plugin

I was shown that one, and I didn't like how the groups were displayed in full names as opposed to like little boxes...

Any chance you could give a better description of what you mean? Perhaps a v4.5 example?
It's just that this definitely doesn't require a plugin slowing down the page load, and is much more suited to a template modification. =]

I guess it's understandable to not slow the page down.

And this site has an example in the info center. You can roll over the box with the color and it tells you what the group name is: raisetheflag.proboards.com/

Ahh, see which one you mean now. I'm heading off to bed shortly (gone 4am here, work tomorrow!), but once I get back I'll add it to my list of things to look at once I'm online.
Will see if I can make sense of the Javascript code they're using, see if I can emulate it. Not something I've tried before, so it's entirely possible I'll make a mess of it, haha. Either way, I'll see if I can get it to work for you - I'll be honest though, I think it might be a little beyond me, so don't get your hopes up.

There's been a couple of threads since then talking about this same mod, and it's definitely not something I'm capable of doing. I think this would perhaps be better suited to a plugin, so posting a request for one is probably the best way forward. Sorry. =[
