Remove "Shoutbox" title + Forum Spacing Issue

I need to make the "Shoutbox" title to not be displayed and some help with fixing some sort of issue with the forum spacing/gradient that is messing up from putting an image in the category area.

If you put an image in the category spot to be displayed it ends up having this ugly gradient that you have to remove; but when you remove the horrible gradient the spacing between the category and the forum is completely messed up.

Go here for removing shoutbox name. Works.. just tested it..( and easy peasy)

Okay, I got that removed then. How do you remove the black border around the chat message areas and there is this weird 25+px gap between the user's icon and where their text starts.

Yay.. I figured out the gap on my own! (I'm an old carpenter.. not a coder..lol)

Themes/ Layout templates/ Shoutbox/ Individual Posts- Line 3.      <div style="float: left; width: 60px;">

Reduce the 60 px until you are happy.

Also since you now have a small shoutbox.. Maybe removing the avatars would help? Or make the shoutbox wider? People will open it, leave a message and close it. It doesn't really matter if it overlaps anything else on your page as your members will close it after posting?

Edit... I'm on a roll.. Here's how to remove the black border..

Colors and Styles/Visual Editor/ Shoutbox/ Shouts/ Border Style== Change to "none" in the drop down window.

Now I just need to get that weird spacing issue resolved for the actual forum area between the category headers and the forum body.

I cannot seem to figure out why the forum is stretching out and leaving that gap between the category header and the first forum listed underneath.

There is also an issue of when you put an image into the category area (like what I have done) you have to remove the gradient behind it... and this may be something that is being caused by that. It also removes the header from Legend and Forum Information and Statistics because you are not able to change their text to images. Thus, without the gradient there nothing shows up.

I am not sure what to do about this.

Hi Tohsaka Rin, I'm sorry.. My board is set up much simpler then yours.. I'd help you if I could. But I haven't worked with something that complex..

Yeah, me either. I don't know if proboards did not think about this issue or not. I mean, if you remove the gradient it screws up all the spacing... there is no area to change the padding/margin for that spacing anywhere.



So far, this hasn't been addressed or maybe no one understands what is going on with it.

I kinda see whats going on.. But your doing a very complex board.. I'm sure as things grow here for V5 you will fix it or someone else will, and then that will help the new people just starting out.. Oh.. and I never fell through your roof.. That was my evil Twin..(Who is an Insurance Adjudicator)

Forum spacing issue was resolved, it was a pain in the arse!

In the future, if someone wants images in their category titles, legend, and infocenter please follow this thread to push for a plugin.

If you put the category images into the normal "category title" area it screws up SO MUCH STUFF. This was NOT meant for someone to put an image in here and apparently proboards did not have hindsight about this.
