I'm so glad to find this plugin. (UBBC button's on quick reply.) I clicked the help on the plugin and it brought me to this thread.

I installed this on my test site. I still have yet to add in my own personal smiley's, so I'm still working on getting it right before adding this to my main site.

However, when I went to take a peek to see what things looked like so far, I seem to have half of the buttons duplicated. I back read part of this thread in hopes to see if this has already been addressed. I might have missed it. I did try to check off those I did not want to show on the Fire tab. I saved the page but still the same.

If not the source of your woes then could you temporarily take off the "guests must login" restriction so I could take a looksie?

Chris, everything seems to be working for me, but this thread is really long now and I am wondering what I am missing. (BTW, it would be a big help if you would add a date to your upgrades in that first post so we could tell at a glance when it was produced.)

Version 0.9.5 was what I refer to as an incremental update which is usually posted to address an issue reported by a single person or an affected group within the thread. It is in no way meant for general consumption since it has not been regression tested to be sure the change did not somehow break some other part of the code. Only versions which have undergone some testing to verify (to a degree that workload permits) they still function properly are then pushed to the online library which then has a date associated with it. The latest STABLE version can be found in the online database and is in fact recommended for those who do not care to test anything.

If you are generously helping me to test that particular version then I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that feedback report of "working for me" and beg you to lobby your friends to come and help test as well. This is the most time-consuming part of creating plugins and for those of us who have to first put in a full life of hard work before reaping the benefits of being able to retire on a beach with a strong wi-fi signal and a laptop, it is quite daunting. One person testing isn't quite as good at weeding out bugs as several using different configurations and settings to put a plugin through its paces.

I don't think this goes against that new 13th rule when I ask that anyone with the time to do so please volunteer as plugin beta testers to help in the development of plugins. I'm sure most plugin authors will welcome the help and even add your name to the list of credits as an incentive to do so.

Ok, let me see, I actually have been having a problem for the last week. But I thought it was attributed to me downloading Windows 10 which turned into a nightmare and having to rebuild my computer. I also blamed it on my mouse. But I'll describe it. I normally use the Quick Reply option.

When I am typing a post and I click on the little smilie in the QR button menu, it doesn't open at first, it applies a smilie, often inappropriate. So for the past few days, I have been avoiding adding smilies in QR. I have experimented a few times and found out that if I can get my mouse pointer on a tiny part of the white border of the smilie button, sometimes it will open and I can then pick a smilie. But it's frustrating.

I mostly use the Link option and the Smilie option. The Link works great!

I'll check with my friend's sites. I'm an admin on a few of them and I will see if any of them are using this version.

Thanks for letting me know about this  JJ, I currently have nothing with the windows 10 configuration to use for testing so your input is quite valuable, so to be clear

1. you "rebuilt" back to a clean install of windows 10 or back to previous OS?
2. Was this occurring in multiple browsers or just that new Spartan/Edge browser?
3. Did you reached the conclusion that this was mouse related because it was occurring in other areas not related to Proboards or sometimes not even in a browser?
4. Did this happen only on quick reply smiley button and not full reply smiley button?
5. Is the use of the word "inappropriate" suggesting the insertion of an image not PG-13 (risqué?) or merely the "wrong" image?
6. Does this "inappropriate" image get inserted without the smiley menu ever opening and allowing you to select a smiley?
7. Is this happening while using the standard smiley button or is it the smiley button enhanced by Todge's smiley plugin?
8. What came first, the chicken or the egg?
9. Who (really) shot JFK?
10. Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar?

OMG, Chris, you cracked me up. Thanks, I really needed that.

1. I rebuilt back to Windows 7 Ultimate. Windows 10 ate my computer. It does not play nicely with Windows 7 Ultimate, it's fine for Windows 7 Home and W8 and W8.1, though. Although, I may take that back. Some of my friends that felt sorry for me are now saying their computers are also crashing like dominoes.

2. I use IE, and have not used Chrome (shudder) or FF in weeks.

3. I have a tendency to not wrap my finger well enough down on the left side and had some problems expediting things, so I took that into account and made sure to have my finger positioned and it didn't make any difference.

4. I just went to experiment and naturally, the problem would not manifest itself even though it has been a recurring thing for many days. But it was also a very short test post on my part. (I tend to be very wordy in post, perhaps that makes a difference?) But yes, in general, it was happening on QR, and not in the Reply option.

5. Inappropriate, meaning I was trying to express a smile and would get a frown, or a sad and would get a LOL. But remember, I didn't really have a choice, the darned thing would not open. I just have to back that out and put in the correct one once the smilies open. Actually, it was a darned mystery and sometimes made me laugh, because I have a ton of smilies and clicking on the Smile icon in the UBBC buttons would open them at random! Darnedest thing I've ever seen!! Sorry, getting of track here, but while it's a nuisance, I've also had some laughs. Oh, and I've also had several smilies show up in my feeble attempt to get the darned button to open up, and they were different smilies. Nothing X rated, like offsite was entered, just not the emote I was wanting to express.

6. Yes, the image gets inserted without the button being opened.

7. Good question! I use the Standard smiley option that comes with V5 with my own smilie subs, not that fancy dancy thing. But I do use a plugin of Todges, it's actually named after me, and it's JJ Smilie Dropdown. Todge made me a plugin using his 4.5 version of a smilie loader for extra smilies at my request.

Chris, I definitely think it is my mouse causing the problem. I was over at a friend's site tonight, (She is using version 0.9.0) and I am getting duplicates when I click on a few things, like the Easy Tag plugin. Hmm... but then I think of a friend that has a Zeta board and I'm not having the problem. Heck, I don't know. I'm going to get a new mouse. I'll get back with you.
