Message Alerts Inconsistent

Sometimes, maybe half the time, there is no bubble alerting me that I have new messages. I am now in the habit of checking my inbox just in case and there are often messages even though there was no alert bubble. Other members have mentioned this issue to me too.

When there is an alert, the number in the bubble is sometimes (sorry for the vague "sometimes") fewer than the actual number of new messages I have.

Also, when I reply to a message in a conversation thread, it will show up as NEW in my inbox, even though it was me who sent the last reply. It doesn’t show up as a new message bubble/alert, but when I access my inbox, a “New” icon appears.

First off, could I get a link to the forum in question please? 

Does the lack of notification in PM conversations with just two users, or more then two users? When you send a reply to a PM do you get the closed envelope icon along with the 'new' icon next to the message subject?

It happens with just two users. Not sure if it happens with more than two because I haven't sent/received many of those since conversion. I did not take notice.

And yes, it shows a new icon with a closed envelope in my inbox when I reply.

I went ahead and filed a bug report regarding this for a developer to look into. My apologies for not seeing your URL in your signature (I have them hidden so I don't have to skim too much when reading a thread).
