Apologies if this has already been asked. Is there a way to hide the Admin button on the nav bar from non admin members without removing it from the nav bar altogether.

Non-admins shouldn't see it at all, automatically.

I created a test member without admin rights and the admin button does appear on the nav bar. All non-admins see when they click on the admin button is the upgrades link, but I'd still like to hide it from them altogether. I can PM you with a link to my forum if you want to look for yourself.

I'm the admin of my forum & I logged into my test non-admin account to see what it looked like... the Admin button is on the Nav Bar for the non-admin account and when I click on it it just goes to a white screen with "You do not have permission to access the page." in the middle of it. It's good that they don't have access to the Admin panel, but I would like for them not to see the Admin button as well. If you need to see my forum, please let me know. Thanks!

Hi VS Admin. I thought the above two were being crazy but it definitely is the case, even on a default theme with no modifications to it. My test account (miffy) has no powers at all, and is just a normal member, yet it sees the "admin" button.

as I said here it happens also if you log out and it seems not anymore possible to choose who can see menu bar buttons. the choice only actually exists for custom pages.

It seems to be constant using IE but intermittent using FF for some reason.

We identified the problem and a fix is going in. It appears to affect some navigation buttons, but access to the admin area is not affected.

It looks like it's fixed on my forum - hope it's permanent & not intermittent. Thanks VS Admin!
