wait has the Dice Roll been fixed and I just missed the update? (because I really would like to be able to do what I have in mind but can't without the dice.)

The [roll] tag itself isn't broken as far as I can tell. What's broken is the ability to preview dice in the visual editor. As long as you don't try to do that, it works (note that this does break quoting posts with dice in 'em unless you have your default editor set to bbcode - and you won't be able to switch editor states in that case either, since the problem breaks the entire editor).

cyberpunkgamer: For threshold (success-type) rolls, nosum and manual counting is your best bet, since vDice doesn't support threshold rolls directly (and I'm not sure it should, given how the mechanics of such rolls work). BTW, If you still want to support "normal" rolls in addition to threshold rolls, you should disable the nosum tweak and use the following pattern in vDice advanced (put everything inside the quotes in the fields indicated on the advanced graphics tab): pattern="threshold:.*", roll template="nosum" Then, when rolling a success-type roll, use the following [roll=] syntax: [roll=threshold:3d10] 3d10 is just an example, any roll will work. You can replace the word "threshold" with any other word you want (even just a single letter, if desired). Rolls not using the threshold method would then be treated normally, tho I'm not sure what would happen if you forgot the threshold prefix in a roll and then added it back later. I hope this helps. --Arek P.S. Bypassing images is easy, btw...Just download the normal vDice plugin instead of the "standard die edition", so that the plugin doesn't contain a default d6 image. Arek, I've actually been working on this, and using Javascript, I've found a way to make it work. I'm cleaning up and finishing up the code for this mod, and then I'll post it here so others can do threshold rolls. If the developer wants to add the functionality to the main plugin I'd be willing to help him get it set up.

Hey, Awesome plug in, this is exactly what I needed! One issue that I am having; I believe I am following the formula correctly, NdS+F, but when N=1 it does not seem to be adding F. Check out the second post here: pbpboston.boards.net/thread/2/page/1/ground-rules-basic-etiquetteThe third line is supposed to be 1d8+5, but it won't add 5. I had made several posts and deleted them changing the value of S with the same results. Again, it only seems to be when F=1. It may well be that I missed something when setting up the plugin, I am fairly new to all this. Thanks for your time, —S

Dionon, bigsulls, Actually, I just realized something: That first pattern is NOT correct. It should be .*[\+-].* That will allow NdS-F rolls as well as NdS+F rolls. The version I originally posted only allows for NdS+F rolls (not -F). Sorry about that. cyberpunkgamer, this may apply you too, if you still use this for non-threshold rolls but you also need to make sure that your threshold pattern is at the top of the list of patterns. --Arek

I can only roll 1-6 i cant select the range of the roll i want. You need to change the range to "1-6*" in settings (note the *), then you can use whatever roll you want for the actual roll. --Arek

Virgil Sovereign any news on getting an updated version with the preview bugs fixed, or at least getting 1.0.7 into the library? --Arek

I've added this plug-in, but it's not working and we can't figure out why. I'm worried that by tweaking it, we may have messed it up. Could you help us out? We're trying to give members tha option of rolling dice up to 150 sides. Thanks! hogwartsthenewages.proboards.com/
