Moving notification bubbles

I had hidden the profile link in the nav menu and linked the members name in the 'Hi member' message to their profile page instead.

However without the notification bubble for tagging/quotes it's pretty pointless and I've had to re-enable the profile button.

Is it possible to make it so that the notification bubble that usually appears over the word profile now appears of the 'Hi Member'?

Any chance of this? Or is it all tied up in the menu somehow......?

This is possible, but it would be pretty hacky. The bubble currently only exists on the page when the button is present, so you'd have to find a way to hide the button without hiding the bubble (probably absolutely positioned or something).
