One of my Global Mods received a PM from me the admin stating he had ' been removed from the conversation concerning...' which I never sent nor did I delete any of his posts, warn him or do anything else to him. He had posted in the thread, but now there are no posts by him and I can't find any trace he ever did post... but I know he did. Confused about this, he subsequantly sent me 2 PM in return first asking 'who?' and then later 'why?'. I replied to him telling him I had not done this and that I don't see any posts by him in the thread. I also told him: 1. I didn't remove you from any conversations anywhere, ever. 2. I never received a message from you with 'who?' 3. I never received any subsequent message from you with 'why?' 4. I only received this message quoted here from you today. 5. Only certain staff members have the ability to Delete posts or Warn people 6. I just finished checking all staff Activity and I don't see where anyone has performed any Deletes or Warnings
I have since checked the Security Logs and have found no trace of anything dealing with him, his activity or his posts. I also check the Activity in his profile and see nothing dealing with the thread in question, showing that he never even posted in it. Any ideas how this happened or even WHAT happened?

A different staff member, my other admin, has seen the same message but about a different thread.

forum.f-106deltadart.comHere's a screenshot someone sent me of the PM they receive. 4 members have seen this now. They also are given a thread link they have been supposedly removed from forum.f-106deltadart.com/conversation/8814 but when I click that thread it says "You do not have access to this conversation, or the conversation was not found". They have all reply back to me from these messages, but I never receive any of their replies. If they start a NEW message it comes to me, but not when replying to THESE messages. I also just realized these are referencing threads with Polls in them. Anyone reported problems with Polls? Michael Brian should we move this to Bug Reports?

Hi DeltaDart, The "You have been removed from this conversation" dialog should only appear when you remove someone from a PM conversation (to my current knowledge). The PM's seem to be automated, hence you not sending them, and not seeing the responses. To my knowledge there shouldn't be anything with polls that causes this. I'm making a report for a developer to look into this.

Hi DeltaDart, I'm attempting to fix the problem right now, but all the data looks okay. I can't see any possible way that these members were removed from the conversation by accident. I just want to confirm that the PM you're talking about is called 'Forum width'. That's the one I saw when looking at your data. There's two places where you can remove participants from a conversation. One is in the action menu when viewing the whole conversation (Change Participants), and the other is on the Reply page. At any time when viewing or replying to this conversation, did you hit an 'X' next to a member's name? (Perhaps trying to reply to only one particular member?) If you never did that, then it's possible that it could be a plugin installed on your forum that caused it. Do you have any plugins related to PM's?

Keith RozettNo, I didn't remove anyone from any threads. The 'Forum Width' was one of them, but Sequestration and Furlough was also one. And this happened only during this one period. Haven't seen it since. I have a number of plug-ins installed, and have experimented with others along the way. It's possible one of them did this, but seems strange... stranger things have happened. I'll just keep an eye out and let everyone know to inform me if they receive anymore of these messages.

I'll just keep an eye out and let everyone know to inform me if they receive anymore of these messages. This should just be an isolated incident, but if it happens again just let me know. Also, if you'd like to re-add the other members back into the conversation, it's easy to do. Just go to the 'Actions' menu near the top, and select 'Change Participants'. You can type member names in the box and add them in, so they won't be left out. This will put things back the way they were before.
