Well I can't seem to find the original v4 forum. This really is confusing but I thank you for your explanation. To be honest, it's all beyond me. What would I need betazone v5 copies for? If you upgraded via the admin panel on your forum, the V4 version of your forum is no longer available. BetaZone is for making a duplicate forum to test V5 on before upgrading your actual forum, as Michael stated in his post: The BetaZone forum is for testing purposes, and to allow users and admins the chance to login to a copy of their forum and play around, test, and break things.

Since the "upgrade" (made in error) from v4 to v5, message traffic by members has ground to a halt. I know that many had problems in regard to their account - not receiving activation messages and so forth. I wonder if any other forums have also noticed a decline in message traffic since v4 to v5 was implemented!

Now, when I click "new" ie new posts as I understand it (not new topics as you used to call it) I get participated threads.
What has suddenly happened to new posts/topics which was where I am used to logging in on midget car panorama. It was there a few days ago, now......?
Anyway, I just logged in to MCP and had to give up .

The flashing advert for 100,000 visitor or whatever is just unacceptable. I cannot read anything with that going on.

I wonder if the sudden lack of messages is because other forum members are having problems similar to those facing tsrwright? midgetcarpanorama.proboards.com/

Remind me please how to delete a post. Why is it so hard to find?
Please explain why you never say you are going to fix something eg what about the default font in this quick reply that is too small for comfortable reading?

You can delete a post by clicking the ![](http://images.proboards.com/v5/icon-options.png) icon in the top-right hand corner of your post, then click the "Delete Post" option. In regard to the quick reply font issue on the iPad, I'm pretty sure I already told this to you already, but last week I did some testing and confirmed the small font in quick reply in iPad, along with one other issue with the way the login page is rendered on iPad. I provided the details to our developers to correct these issues. Unfortunately I don't have a firm time frame to provide for when these can be expected to be corrected, but it will likely be within the next couple of weeks.

Hi tsrwright, The info center Michael is referring to is found at the bottom of the index page of the forum, in the "Forum Information & Statistics" area Ok I think I can link to that. What you should have was that it is at the bottom of the forum 'home page'. It really is important to use consistent terminology. And why is it located so obscurely? Arent recent posts what most forum members want to see? If you have lots of categories (and we have far too many) then it is quite tedious to work through them all to find what is new.

Thank you re font size must have missed this response. The gear thing simply doesn't make any sense to me as an icon. I don't follow why I should think to go there to delete a message.

What you should have was that it is at the bottom of the forum 'home page'. It really is important to use consistent terminology. And why is it located so obscurely? Arent recent posts what most forum members want to see? If you have lots of categories (and we have far too many) then it is quite tedious to work through them all to find what is new. Michael did note that it was the info center, which in v4 is only available on the home page. So the terminology used was consistent. But happy to clarify that for you at least It's not very obscure, there are a flew of options available in that menu. It's better to have them laid out in a menu rather than having numerous buttons for every post; some of which that don't get much use. It also helps as some members in the past have deleted posts accidentally when replying because the button was always visible. When switching to v5, this is one of those things that takes very little time to get used to. It may be important to some people, but likely not most. If you want to though, you can add these links to the navigation menu at the top of your forum. This is done by visiting your admin panel, and from there navigate to Settings > Forums Settings. On the Forum Settings page, click the tab for "Navigation" and you can add any buttons that you want to your top menu bar. Simply click the "Add Custom" button, and in the blank fields that appear provide a name for the button (such as Recent Posts), and then in the second box paste in the direct URL to the recent posts page. Once that's added, the navigation page will save automatically and the button will appear at the top of your forum

What actually said was "If you wish to view recent posts/recent threads, you can still do so from the info center at the bottom of the forum"
Please don't insult me by suggesting this was other than lazy phrasing. What is "info centre"; where is 'bottom of the forum".
Here's another whinge:
In 'Quick reply' the eye is naturally drawn to 'Reply' in the top right hand corner of the box especially if the 'Post Quick Reply' (bottom left) is off the bottom of the screen or behind the keyboard on a tablet. Then when you hit Reply, which is the obvious thing to do, you loose it.
The tone of the reply here confirms what I have been thinking - that the empathy shown by your chief's response a few days ago doesn't apply to the staff
I am afraid it seems obvious you guys have no idea how to design and set-up a good user interface and, worse still, have no intention of fixing this really bad one.
