From looking at the code, I couldn't really see how it was possible to get 3 emails and have the bookmark notification bubble display only 1. Right after the email gets sent, the system updates the bookmark notification bubble. Maybe something is interupting the process.
I think it makes more sense to send the email out after we update the bookmark notification bubble, so I did make this change. There were some other changes I made, but it probably does not relate to the issue you described. These changes won't be applied until the next time we push out updates to the forums.
When you received those 3 bookmark emails, were they all for threads from the Support Board? Maybe they were for threads from other boards?

Hi Vinh - I only bookmark threads on Support. I'll try to remember to take a screen shot for you.

2 should have been showing in my bookmark bubble when I came to Support just now, but alas only 1 was showing. A couple of screen shots for you Vinh. http://i493./rr297/WWWF_08/Beta/ScreenShot2013-04-04at174926.png http://i493./rr297/WWWF_08/Beta/ScreenShot2013-04-04at174941.png

@ritab,
Ah I see what is happening now. I tried the Top Sites feature in Safari and noticed that it updates the "preview" by actually going to the page and getting the contents. So when this happens, the forum thinks that you actually went to the bookmarks page so it clears the bookmarks notification bubble. You can force Safari to update the previews in the Top Sites feature by just pressing ctrl + R or apple + r.
What I'll do is detect if Safari's Top Sites is requesting the page. Then if it is, I won't have the system make changes to the bookmark notifications.

Bookmark bubble is working as it should for me now I've stopped using Safari 'Top sites'.
