Request for User Smilies Plugin

Hi,

So my forum has been using this code for User Smilies on v4.5 for a while now, and many members would like to see if that could be brought back in some format. Basically, the code allows members to upload their own personal smilies that only show for them in the editor, instead of adding additional smilies forumwide. Many of our members roleplay with custom-made emoticons that only they need access to, so that's our main use for them.

The 4.5 code places the custom smilies underneath the standard Proboards smilies for the forum, so something along the lines of that perhaps, or as one of my members suggested, a dropdown menu in which all smilies could be listed, if that's possible.

Not as yet, I should make a start this weekend.

How many personal smilies do your members have, on average?

I ask because of storage. If I use a key, then storage is limited, and smilie URLs can be quite long, or I can use localStorage, which will give more space, but if your members share a PC, they will see each others smilies.

Todge, Okay, good to hear.

It's hard to nail down an average given that there's quite a bit of variation among the members that use this code, but I'd say if the plugin could allow for at least 30-40 personal smilies that'd cover most people's sets. Is that feasible? Many people use less than that, but there's a few outliers above that range.

I don't think any members share a PC, so it sounds like localStorage would be acceptable to allow for more space.
