Hi, just tested it and it display that members havent posted since there account was activated, even if they have?? The plugin counts time from when it's installed. If a member hasn't posted between the time the plugin is installed and when you display the message, the plugin won't be aware the member has ever posted.

Is there any way to make this only display a message to members that have only made a certain number of posts, eg 1 or 2. For example, our forum is closed to guests, and only 1 welcome board shows until members make at least 1 post. Then they can view the whole board. We find most register, make 1 post so the can view other the boards, then dont post anymore.

It's a very non-standard feature, hence I'd add it as an extension plugin. And again, the plugin would only be able to track the number of posts a member had made since the plugin was installed.
Are you still interested?

yes please. Ive had the current plugin running today, and a member has reported that he has made posts today, but the pester still came up and said he hadnt made any recent The other problem you might run into is that the current version of the plugin relies on the end user's local storage facilities provided by his/her browser. Some browsers wipe out locally-stored data during routine cache wipes, and many utilities such as CCleaner will also wipe out this kind of data. For non-members, which was the original target of the plugin, there's really nothing you can do since there's no easy way to permanently attach information to a guest without a member account. For members, however, this kind of information can be stored in a key. I didn't program the plugin to use keys because i) they're useless for tracking guests, and ii) keys are a limited commodity (Proboards limits the number of keys you can have and charges you money to add in extras; a fair policy, since every key increases the load on their servers). Since what you seem to be looking for is a with-key version of the plugin, rather than building in an extension, I'll add a "premium" version of the plugin with the additional setting, as well as key storage for members so that their data is properly preserved.

Hi thanks,
If you can make it just pester members with only 1 or 2 posts, that would do nicely.
Even if it is after every post, then when they get to a certain post count it could stop?
I dont want it pestering regular members.

Thank you so much for this plug, it is very helpful! I do have a question though. I am a mac user and do not have the home and insert keys on my keyboard to see the screen pop up. Is there any way someone can figure out what the keys would be to see the short cut? Thanks in advance for the help.

The thing we want to be certain of is that we don't want people to be able to trigger it accidentally. Which of the following keys does your computer have?: Pause, NumLock, ScrLk, ~ I can put in "alternate" key combinations besides the ones using the Home key.

I actually don't have any of those keys except ~. hehe. I have a Macbook Air, so the keys I do have that might be helpful are: function, control, option, and command. Not sure if that will be helpful. If not possible, it is quite alright. Thanks for taking a stab at it.

It's possible, but really we're looking at a situation where we'd need bona fide codes, such as typing in V P E S T L to invoke the lurker dialog, V P E S T M to invoke the mute dialog, etc. That's not a major change from what's already there, but this upgrade is third on my to-do list. Maybe by Friday. I guess they call it "Macbook Air" because it's "lighter than air". And all they had to do was drop a few accessories, like 60% of your keyboard.

Ive had to disable this as it was pestering members randomly. Some where getting it popping up eventhough they had posted, some never saw it even if not posted
