People can easily view ten threads without posting. And pestering every hour!?

The default settings are 80 unique thread visits and 1.5 weeks between pesters. You're going to drive your members bonkers with anything more persistent than that, IMNSHO.

Thats why we only want to target members who post once to unlock the boards, then just sit and read them.

Thank you so much for creating this! For the last 2 years (with v4) I went through the exhausting process of looking at the members list at the lowest posters, then going to each profile to see when they'd last signed in/posted & emailing them individually! This is crabtastic!

I apologize for not knowing, I sincerely don't read history messages on the topic due to not understanding English. I use a personalize software to translate me things into my foreign language.

I'm thinking about installing this plugin on my forum. I don't think lurkers are a problem for us because most of our forum is hidden but we have a number of mutes whom I would like to pester once in a while.

My problem is that we also have some members who don't post often but whose contributions are valued, and I don't want the pester message to be a turn-off for them. Is there a way to get this plug-in to pester only zero-post members?

I've added the ability to exclude specific members and groups from pestering in v1.0.6, which can be downloaded here: VPester.pbp (4.89 KB)

It should be available in the Proboards library shortly.

The pester message for lurkers can be previewed by visiting any page on your board once the plugin is installed and pressing the keys in sequence: Insert Home Insert

Which keys should I use on my iMac please?

I believe the equivalents on a Mac keyboard are Fn+(left arrow) for "Home", Fn+(right arrow) for "End", and one of: Fn+(Enter), Fn+(Numpad 0), or Fn+(right Cmd)+Delete for "Insert".

Barring that, you may be unable to access the feature. I deliberately chose key sequences that are almost impossible for users to type accidentally.

I installed this plugin and now the more I read the more confused I get. I am now questioning if this will even work for my forum. My forums primary purpose is to list answers to trivia questions. So I have close to 200 visitors a day, more than likely the same people and they are going to view that one thread every day. They may or may not check out anything else on the forum. I would like to have the popup appear after someone has visited the forum a certain number of times and then once a week after that. Can this work that way? I would estimate that 95% of my visitors visit daily and read the same one maybe two threads. So if this works by counting different threads only then I guess it won't work for me. Can someone please help me with this?
