New Thread Link In Thread Page Doesnt Work

i tried putting a new thread link in the thread page but it doesnt work. it shows up but the link just goes to the thread page

i have this

i have the same thing in thread page and that one works

I think it might have something to do with the fact that the $[create_thread_button] variable (and its derivatives) only exists in the Board template, and not in any others. If the variable doesn't show in the list for the template you're editing then the odds are it's not going to work how you intend it to, if at all.
