We have many boards with vastly different purposes. I'd like to add "In (board name)" under the subject in the recent thread list. I can only find board_id in the list of variables which puts the board ID number in instead of the display name.

As far as I'm aware it's currently not possible to modify the template for the Recent Posts list, I'm afraid.
I can't rule out a plugin being possible, but I wouldn't hold out too much hope. Sorry that's not really the answer you were looking for.
