Is anyone able to make a plugin that will show if the members online are currently reading or composing a post when you hover over their name, like in the image below from another forum? Or maybe change the name of the member to be italicised if they are composing a post? Members on my forum have asked for this feature but I do not see anywhere that there is option, or how to go about making a plugin to do this. Thank you in advance. Attachments:

This one would be tricky to implement using just plugins, Gackt. The feature would need to set 'keys' in response to members moving from page to page, and would need to get keys in response to the mouse hovering over elements. Proboards has some relatively strict rules that these kinds of accesses can only occur 'in response to a user-initiated action'. I'm not sure if either of the above qualify, and unfortunately this isn't a situation where caching is going to help. Perhaps I'll impose on VS Admin again for advice on whether auto-setting keys in response to page loads and/or fetching keys in response to mouseovers are acceptable.

Thank you for taking a look at this, and if there is anything you could do then that would be great, but I understand that it probably won't for now. It did look quite complicated and I was unsure if it could be done, and certainly didn't have a clue how it could be.
The reason members would like his feature is that it would give them a hint to as another post was being made my another member, and they would then stay logged on to post again. They find this very useful on the other board I used in the example.
