Managing Member Groups in admin area

In admin home > members >member groups I'd like to have the ability to access the group leaders control panels. I know I can access the group leaders control panel through the "groups" tab in my profile but I think it would be very useful to manage/edit members of groups in the admin area as well.

Also I think that the ability to pull up a checklist of member names so that a number of members could be added/deleted to a group at once would be a nice touch too.

You can already do what you are asking from the Groups Page of the admin area.

Click on (View/Edit) under the Leaders Column.

Then click on 'Visit the Group Leader Control Panel.' in the dialog that opened.

That takes you to the Group Leader Control Panel


Clicking 'View/Manage Members' under the 'Group Members (xx)' section on the Group Leader Control Panel does exactly what you are requesting. You can mass delete there. Also back on the Group Leader Control Panel you can add any members you want using the member search tool. That is the alternative to adding specific members through their profiles which is also an option.

Thank you! I would have never figured out that clicking on the edit/view leaders section would ultimately take me to where I could manage the members of the group. Perhaps the wording could be different in that section (or the links laid out differently) to make it clearer what can be accessed on that page.

It's more one of those shortcuts that people need to learn. The dialog that popped open let's you view and edit the Leaders of the group. We then placed a link to the Group Leader Control Panel page in that dialog. The reason being partly why you asked. We wanted a way to get to the Group Leader Control Panel, so we placed that in the Group Leaders dialog. Again still named pretty appropriately.

The View/Edit link is named correctly. The column is named correctly. The dialog is named correctly. The link in the dialog is named correctly.

The second reason we placed the link where we did, is you typically want to go to the Group Leader Control Panel after you've set the group leaders. It's merely a side effect that you have further group control on that page. But the path that took you there was named correctly for the reasons you typically go there. It is the Group Leaders page. We don't want to say Edit Group Members or something else when everything along that path has more to do with the leaders themselves. Sorry.
