Tried this in my test forum, and it works. I also have the Shoutbox Sound plugin. Do you think the sound will work when the Shoutbox is collapsed? Edit: Suggestion - maybe add an optional button or text on the right of the Shoutbox title bar indicating you need to click to open/close. I know it's obvious to most of us, but there are some on our forum who would say the shoutbox is missing.

I should add an icon. I first simply created this for my own forum, but since it worked so well, I thought I would add it as a plugin.
This plugin should not affect the sound.
I was also thinking of adding the "new" indicator next to the Shoutbox title when a post is made.

Is there any way to keep it in the position I have moved it to? It now goes back below the info center, Where I did not want it.. Also does anyone know where the code is on the board that removed the shoutbox title? I need to remove that code because now my shoutbox simply shows up as a blank collapsed titlebar. (My fault for forgetting to save the code) It does not affect the sound plug in.. All well there.. Thanks! And I think once I work it out.. My members will like this...

You may have "commented out" the title. Second line of the Shoutbox template is: <div class="title-bar"><h2>Shoutbox</h2></div> Thanks for confirming that this does not keep the sound plugin from working.

I would though, like the shoutbox to stay in the same position I had it.. I moved it over the Info center using Template modifications posted here.. I guess the plug in is over riding those.. My board is here This is how it looks with out the plug in. The purpose of the plugin is to move the shoutbox outside of the inline document and make it easily accessible. Giving it a structured position that users can access at any moment makes your shoutbox a more usable chat system. I think what you are trying to say is that you want your info box hidden. The best way to do that is to use css to hide it rather than placing another element on top of it. If you don't want your shoutbox to move, then this plugin isn't for you. Ahh.. Me bad sorta.. If you went to the board..Yes.. I already hid info center from guests. But for my members.. I had the shoutbox over the info center (which they can see) Not a problem.. I'll work on sorting out getting the the word "shoutbox" back into the titlebar.. I myself.. Like the shoutbox bar at the bottom.. it's a very nice plug in..

i really love this plug in, very helpful and prevents unneeded scrolling when doing posts and such. however, is there a way to have the shoutbox be fixed to the left or right side of the screen rather then in the center? from what i see there's not but if possible maybe you could add that into a new version of this plug in.

Did you ever find a way to do this?

Did you ever find a way to do this? sadly i didn't! i never really tested around with this idea after i posted this, mostly because i kept to the idea of having the shoutbox in the collapsible side table thingy.

Is there a way to anchor it to the left/right instead of the bottom? The post before yours was from 2013. Also, checking Designs Evolved's profile, they haven't been on since 2013 - so you may or may not get a reply.
