Could we get the option in the gears section of all posts, to be able to save or send the individual post through PM? To be honest, it'd only need to be the one option: send, since you could send to yourself, so no save needed I suppose.

That is a very specific action not taken or needed to be taken by the majority of our members. It changes what the PM system is for as well as changes how threads are used. At this time we don't feel that this feature has a broad reaching application. Sorry but we won't be adding this feature at this time. Thank you. Sidenote: Can I ask, why are you saving all these posts to your inbox? For what reason are you keeping all these posts, and why would we allow you to copy other people's content to your inbox? I personally think this would receive a lot of complaints as a feature. If something does need to be copied and saved you can already do so. You could even save it to your computer to make sure you had an offsite backup. I guess I don't understand the endgame. So you save this post of mine to your inbox, why? Okay so you explained why, now what are you going to do with it? Is the next request a restore button?

Okay so you explained why, now what are you going to do with it? Is the next request a restore button? Hopefully the below will explain and you'll be able to at least understand why I want this. I don't want it it in any bad way or anything. I don't see how it can be used for bad. Nor do I understand why it would receive complaints.I've come across a lot of posts on Support, where I have liked the info given (like some coding for example, be it short or long) but they are buried within pages/posts. Of course, liking doesn't save a link anywhere (well yeah ok it kind of does, but it soon vanishes within your activity) and bookmarks saves a whole topic. I just want specific posts. I'm always finding posts that I may need to save for whatever reason. If this is still an absolute no, can you please explain the problems (or some - aka. what people would make complaints about etc) and if so, I have an alternative where it wont copy the post, instead if will send a "link to post only" as a PM. The subject name will be that of the topic. Edit: How about if not via PM, you can "save" through bookmarking. So it'd work the same as normal bookmarking (a topic) but this would be "bookmark post". Then in your Bookmarks, it could list ALL posts/topics, but you use the search to order by: Bookmarked topics or Bookmarked posts?

In the one above and another request we added post bookmarking to our list of potential features. So it's possible, someday, that you might be able to bookmark a post. I'm glad that solves Stinky666's problem too.

I'm glad that solves Stinky666's problem too. I would disagree that it solves my problem, because it doesn't. Saying to bookmark a post is more work than bookmarking a whole topic (browser bookmark I mean). Why include topic bookmarks when there is browser bookmark capability? It's easier to bookmark a whole topic.

I rejected your inbox request. When I asked you why you wanted it you said, " bookmarks saves a whole topic. I just want specific posts." Implying that you wish bookmarks could save specific posts and not just whole topics. In fact you specifically explained that you wanted to save specific posts for later use. Literally what bookmarking a post would be. So I replied and told you that someday we might add post bookmarking and that would do exactly what you wanted. But then you replied, " I would disagree that it solves my problem, because it doesn't." Huh? That's exactly what it does. It takes specific posts and saves them for later. Then you said, " bookmark a post is more work than bookmarking a whole topic" Nope. Bookmark a whole topic, click the action drop down and click bookmark. Bookmark a specific post, click the gearbox drop down and click bookmark. (in the hypothetical future) Same amount of work. Sometimes you are silly Stinky666

Just FYI, there are programs out there these days that can sync browser bookmarks across machines. Google Chrome even has it built in to the browser.

Sometimes you are silly Stinky666 Point 1: Yes, I want to bookmark POSTS not threads. I thought we had that cleared already? Point 2: For some reason I read your above post as saying (not word for word obviously) "the above what maiden posted (Aka. using browser bookmarks) solves your problem stinky666". Hence me saying it doesn't.. haha sorry, I wasn't even tired at the time either. Which of course makes it worse. I think because of your first reply to this idea, you were against it or at least it being a "no" and not understanding it etc. So i think I may have just skimmed the post, picking up only a couple of words and assuming This next bit was me referring to BROWSER bookmarks - remember, I thought you had told me to do that rather than to wait for a feature such as this. What I meant, specifically, was it takes MORE clicks to bookmark a POST than it does a whole topic, and if anything should have a forum bookmark, then it would be posts for that reason. (hope that makes sense) We totally got our wires crossed haha Hopefully that sorts it out though, if not be sure to let me know which part makes no sense.
