Hi, I've recently become entangled in the mass web of the love for proboards. However, with the new site update to V5, I adore the changes that have been made, I love the new rounded look, and the fact that messages now archive themselves. But, I was wondering if there is a possible way to toggle any of the notifications that members get. It seems a little annoying that a member is notified for everyone's actions? Such as getting notifications for people making posts and replies that they aren't subscribed to? I think that was the initial complaint. I don't want to force members to see that someone elses' roleplay or thread is being replied to when they don't have anything to do with it? If we could get an option on removing this..that'd be pretty great. It seems unfair to force members into getting all these when they are normal members.

The only ways someone will be notified of a topic being updated, is if they have either posted in it at some point (could be a day ago or a month, it will still show "new" for participated), or if they have said topic bookmarked. Other ways that they may get notified, is if someone quotes them, or tags them. You can go to your profile > edit > privacy, and set what you want to be notified for. This includes turning off the "participated" feature.
