Tagging member question

If a member is tagged on a board that they have no access to, do they get a notification? For example, if the moderators tag a certain member on a moderator only board, will that member be notified?

If not, that's fine.

If yes, is there any way that the member can somehow gain access to the topic that is normally closed to him/her?

No, they do not get notifications when you tag someone in a board they have no access to.

Previously this was true, but this was fixed a while ago. The user would receive a notification, but would not be able to access the post in any way.

So if you tagged someone in a PM who was not a part of the conversation they would also get the notification?

No. This issue only occurred in threads/boards.

Is there an option so that Admin Members would be notified if they were tagged on "private" boards?

Example:
We have a "Back Room" board for admin only, but tagging members of the admin does not work on threads/posts created on this private board.

You can tag anyone in a hidden board, but they will only receive a notification if it is in a board they can see.

Thanks for the fast response. I guess I'm not sure what we may be doing wrong, but we cannot see in our notifications when we are tagged in these hidden boards.

Are you sure the member your tagging as permission to that board?

Oh yes. There are only a few of us. We can all post there, but we are not seeing tags. Oddly, we see likes, but not tags. We've tested it several times.

This does look like a bug.. Do what Michael  had suggested above, and post this in "Report Bugs" board so this can be handled correctly.
