Our Product / Tool team got back to us and they would like to draw your attention to the fact that JQuery released 1.9 version on January 15, 2013, which has made significant changes to the library:

Please note that eBay Partner Network currently uses JQuery 1.6.2. The following link discusses the affected functionality between 1.6 and 1.9.:

Unfortunately from the response they gave, it would seem they're not interested in updating their widgets to run above the JQuery 1.6.2 version at this time
