Replacing the Logout

I would like to remove the Logout and replace it with a button to go along with my other buttons under my banner.
Is there a way that this can be done. The same for the login and Register.

Christine I use Brians Classic Proboards Menu Plugin and I am able to have buttons for all those. Mostly I am putting them on the newer themes I make. But it is possible.

Hi, @christine1966.

The above is correct and would require you to have the entire menu area defaulted, but I have a plugin-free solution for you that stemmed from that same thread.

Find this section of code in Structure > Layout Templates > Forum Wrapper:

                        {foreach $[navigation.menu]}

                                <a{if $[navigation.menu.active]} class="state-active"{/if} href="$[navigation.menu.href]"{if $[navigation.menu.accesskey]} accesskey="$[navigation.menu.accesskey]"{/if}>
                                    $[navigation.menu.name]
                                    {if $[navigation.menu.notification.total]}
                                        <div class="tip-holder" onclick="window.location='$[navigation.menu.notification.href]'; return false;">
                                            <div class="tip-number">$[navigation.menu.notification.total]</div>
                                            <span class="tip"></span>
                                        </div>
                                    {/if}
                                </a>
                            </li>
                        {/foreach}

Now add this immediately after it on the next line.

                            {if $[current_user.is_member]}
                                <li>
                                    $[logout_link]
                                </li>
                            {else}
                                <li>
                                    $[login_link]
                                </li>
                                <li>
                                    $[register_link]
                                </li>
                            {/if}

This will automatically add the buttons in the appropriate manner depending on whether or not you're logged in.

Brian than you so much. That put the Logout like I wanted but with one issue the Original Logout is still there. How can I get rid of it?

Go back to that same page and remove this section of code:

                    <p id="welcome">
                        {if !$[current_user.is_member]}
                            Welcome Guest.  Please $[login_link] or $[register_link].
                        {else}
                            <span>Welcome $[current_user.name].</span>  $[logout_link]

                    </p>
