I converted my V4 forum to V5 and the posting page looks wrong to me. Whenever I go on an actual thread on the site, the page does this: i45.tinypic.com/2r59rns.pngIt seems to happen on pages with 'stories from around the web' at the bottom. Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a possiblity you could post a link and open it to guests, at least while you are being helped. Looking at the screen cap, I'm not sure what it should look like.

definitelyxmaybe.proboards.com/thread/16008/smells-teen-spirit?scrollTo=127109&page=1It happens in there and every page with 'stories around the web' at the bottom, so I think that's what's moving the thread over so far. I just want everything to be aligned properly like on the home page you know? The problem is probably either in the global header or style sheet but I don't know how to fix it to keep it from automatically moving over so far.

I removed that and added the closing div and it looks the same.

I have went through your side table because when this happens there is a missing closing div somewhere. I ended up removing each segment of your tabbed table and found the missing div. However, I also cleaned up some wayward center tags that were doing nothing. But since ProBoards on V5 doesn't like coding (and they may be fixing bugs) I posted your whole global headers on my V4 test site here.
Again, this replaces what you have in your global header. Fingers crossed because I don't have a site that is officially converted to the real thing yet. I only have copies so I don't get the "stories around the web" on it to know for sure if it is fixed.

I plugged in the global header completely as it was and the issue still wasn't fixed. :/ I tried putting bits and pieces in there and it spills over to cover the side table no matter what I do, and if I try to change the left-margin then it looks deformed on the home page. I'm at a loss about why this is happening and I dunno what else to try.

Something is making that jump to the side like that as it looks good at first and then something shifts it over. With V5 I'm not sure what loads first and what has priority. But you can check some settings. In Admin > Themes Advanced Styles > CSS Visual Editor I had the width set at 905px. Also banner image set to "center center".
Also if you have any plug-in, disable them one by one to see if that makes a difference.
When I look at your site, there is a large white area at the bottom that goes behind the side panel & forum , which isn't right but I can't tell you why. I can't see what might have been done with your layout, what may have been removed etc., but you had to have removed part of the layout to not have the standard menu buttons or used a plug-in for that. If none of that works, remove the global header and see if that fixes it. If so, then maybe you'll need to use the plug-in side table. Guess maybe I should go ahead and convert one of my forums for real so I too get the stories around the web so I can trouble shoot a bit better.
I guess, now, you'll have to do some trouble shooting on your own because it works perfectly on my V5 forum with no changes to anything and no plug ins.

Yeah. Sometimes it looks like one of the pictures in the stories gets super big just before it skips over for me. I tried disabling the plugins and altering the settings with the Visual Editor and all that served to do was change how the category text was aligned. I don't see the white area in any of the browsers I checked. I think it might have more to do with the banner/navigation being in the header. Should I try making a thread in the 'bugs' section or elsewhere? I wasn't even aware of the stories addition or I would have tried to fix this before converting. Woopsies. *update Urgh I can't figure out why this is happening. I tried removing ALL my coding in global header, and it's still happening. I even reset each layout template and the style sheet and checked and every page with that on it will do the same thing. Could the ad itself be bugged? So frustrating omg I think I fixed it but I'm not sure how??

I hate when something gets fixed and you aren't what you did to fix it but at least it's fixed! But you still have the side tables covering that ad (see screen cap below, green arrow). Your side panel is about 290px wide and then you have the gap between it and the forum which makes it about 310px. (see screen cap below,blue arrow) I think you need to adjust this accordingly: Your global header: <STYLE> body {margin-left: 250px; } Screen cap: i48.tinypic.com/zstkqb.pngAlso in that screen cap notice the red arrows. See that white that appears to go across the screen behind things. That isn't right either. I think it was in that other thread you had when I said the "wrapper" div was closed in your header and that was wrong. Now looking at your source, it looks right so that is good and very likely whatever you did set it as it should be. But I don't know what might be causing the white bar at the bottom but I'm sure it isn't the side panel/table because I put it on my v5 forum right out of your header and I don't get that.

Oops I didn't even notice the ad. And it turns out on the pages thats fixed, you can't click anything in the side table including talk in the cbox. I think it's something to do with the ad going over. I tried changing the dimensions like you said and the ad doesn't center. It seems no matter what I have one problem or the other and I can't work out why the ad is jumping over again. I didn't change much of the coding that was fixed in the other thread.
I might have figured out the white bar. I didn't have my background as repeating, so I tried setting it as vertical repeat in the visual editor so we'll see if that solves it.

The white bar is gone so you figured that out and the ad is centered like it should be but probably due to whatever fixed the white bar. The margin-left is needed though for those who have a smaller screen res. It will prevent the ad from getting hidden behind the side panel. In IE I can type in the cbox but in Chrome I can't so we can fix that by making the z-index a positive number: In the class .side_panel{
set the the -1 to just 1 z-index: 1;

It's hard for me to judge because of the resolution differences, but if it looks good for you too then it must be all fixed.
Sweet! That worked. It's crazy something so simple could fix it. I think everythings good to go but you should just double check. Thanks so much for your help. <3

Oh dang, I spoke too soon. When I checked the ad, I just clicked some random threads but going to the original thread you posted, this thread, that ad isn't centered. I'm pretty much at a loss on how to fix it. I'm sure it isn't a bug but rather something in the layout or a plugin (that doesn't work nice with the related topics at the bottom) that is messing with it. I'm sorry.
Edit: I'm doing some testing on my site that has the related topics at the bottom and I think, not sure yet, that it doesn't like the body{margin-left in the headers. It works find until you click a thread with the related topics just like you originally said. Maybe the wrapper will need to be aligned left but I have to go offline for a bit so can't test it now. Maybe wait before posting in V5 as I said to below.
Are you 100% sure it does it with the side table removed? If it does do it with the side table removed, I'd leave the side table off and then post for help in the V5 boards for someone to help that is more knowledgeable than me. Or at least make it clear you removed the side table in your global header and it still does it.
But some good news, the cbox is fixed. I can type in it in IE, FF and Chrome.

So close! I took a screenshot of it without the side table present. I was hoping not to have to remove it altogether for a length of time unless I absolutely have to, but I will if need be. i47.tinypic.com/2ury3ax.pngThis is a screen cap with the entire sidebar removed. The black is only there because it's just the background, it's not any coding or anything. It still looks the same, so I'm not entirely sure that's the problem or else it would have corrected itself right? I also disabled the one plugin I have on the site (hide avatar builder) and it made no difference. Why the ad is doing this is beyond me unless it's something to do with layout templates? Idk. If I make another thread where should it be, btw?
