I've recently converted one of my forums to V5 and noticed the header/footer areas are still accessible. Does this mean some older codes (i.e. money, slipstream, etc) would still work or do all customized features have to be done via plug-ins? I'm in no hurry to fully customize the appearance of my site just yet, but if the older codes can still work I can do a simple copy/paste from my other forum. Thanks in advance to whomever answers my silly questions!

It is highly unlikely that your existing codes will work with V5.
If all they are doing is adding content to the header or footer, they are worth a try, but if they are changing the look or functionality of the forum, then nope, they would have to be recreated, probably with a plug-in.

Ok I suppose I could give some a try just to see if it works. Most of my older codes added customized side tables, the info center, customized boards, etc. If they don't work I could just remove them without catastrophic errors. Thanks Todge!

No worries, and good luck with the change.
