Merge old account with new

With the changeover to V5 I had a few members who simply could not figure out how to get signed in and ended up creating a new account.  

Is there any way to merge these new accounts with their old one?

There is no way to merge accounts. Have they posted content on their new accounts? Have they since been able to access the old accounts?

Yes, they have posted with their new accounts and gave up trying with their old ones. I can delete the old accounts I guess and then change their display name to on their new account to their old one. I just don't want to lose old posts or anything else important in the process.

Do you know if they're still using the same emails for their accounts?

If so, can you have them try the following?

- While logged in, click on the icon on the bottom right of the forum.
- On the Switch Account page, click on the Link another forum account option towards the middle of the bottom
- Click on the Forgot Password? option on this page
- Type in their old forum username in the username field (not their display name)
- An email should now be sent to their inbox. Have them follow this email to complete the linking process.
