I ran across another difference in our browsers. I had clicked to change the default text words on my manner to transparent to get rid of them. (Advanced Styles & CSS, Visual Editor, Forum, Header, Forum Banner, Banner Text, Text Color.) But a friend went to my test site and then told me how to get rid of the text by clicking the 'transparent' option. I told her I had already done that, but she said she could see it. So I investigated. The text was still showing up in FF and Chrome (I use IE.) It turns out you have to also have to scroll down and click the Text Shadow Color option in that Banner area in your Themes, on that same page. This will insure that a text shadow doesn't show up for the non-existant, transparent text you got rid of in with your first click on Text Color. ETA: Thanks Chrissy and Speed.

Should be able to do it by going to theme settings, forum title, and set to 'do not display a title'

I don't see that option in my forum settings, Patrick. I remember on my previous test site, I left the title area blank so nothing would show at all. But I plan to have several test sites and would like to name them something to keep them all straight.
